SF Bills Fan Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 That Green Bay game was crucial. I can't believe they were able to pull it off. That team just finds ways to win (as we well know). I was really hoping for a Brett Farve led comeback that just didn't happen. Jax has Houston and Oakland and both are very winnable games. I see us getting ahead of Denver and Baltimore and losing out to the Jets and Jax. I really hope I'm wrong. If we win out, then I think this team deserves a playoff spot.
IDBillzFan Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 You can't win when you throw two picks into the endzone. It was too bad really, but we can only win the games in front of us. (On a side note, am I the only won who thinks Leftwich looks like a tall Gary Coleman? Whatchootalkin'bout, Willis?)
ExWNYer Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 If we win out, then I think this team deserves a playoff spot. Tell that to Nate Clements. Fourth and forever...just knock down the damn ball! That play is going to haunt us all offseason.
CJPearl2 Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 I know...ive been sick about that game since yesterday - that was such an important game for us. Baltimore will lose to Pitt in Pitt. And Denver will likely lose to Tenn in Tenn or to Indy the last week (even without all starters). Lets hope Houston wins this weekend.

I was so psyched when it appeared to be a Green Bay touchdown and then that guy just took it right out of his hands. Jacksonville is having one of those years where all the bounces go their way.

After the NE game, it seemed like nothing we did prior to that game would matter because I was sure we were toast. It's nice to have December games that mean something.

MarkyMannn Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 If Jax was going to lose, yesterday was the game. Next week they host Houston. That may be our best chance. The last week they are @ Oakland. Raiders will probably fold the season that day. For the Bills, assuming we beat SF, we WILL be playing for something against the Steelers

They did beat Jax already and it was a decisive win. I wish the game was in Houston, I think Jacksonville is not an easy place for teams to play.
Guest Guest Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 I think Houston has a better shot to beat Jax then Tennessee has to beat Denver. Carr has beaten Jax a few times in his career and those AFC South games are always close. If Jax survives that, Oakland will give them a good game. Hopefully, Manning doesn't break the record this week so he'll have a lot to play for against Denver. Whatever the case may be, we can't be eliminated until Week 17, which is a good thing.
TigerJ Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 I agree that Jacksonvilles best chance to lose one of their final three games was at Green Bay, but it isn't over till the fat lady sings. She may be warming up in the back, but she hasn't stepped on stage yet.
John from Riverside Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 What I am wondering is if the jags have a let down this next week.... I mean...think about it....they are coming off a mentally and physically draining game with the packers...who almost get the turnover they need to tie it and send it to overtime..... It is games like this that cause a team to come out flat....I think they lose next week... I look at it like this....if we win our remaining games and we get in then it was meant to be...if not...then it is a great start for a run deep into the playoffs next year.......

He pulled out the "nobody circles the wagons..." and Tommy Jackson said next year we will be a playoff team for sure. I think they are really hoping we get there. I guess i'm just being pessimistic because it'll be easier for me to swallow missing the playoffs if I don't get to excited here. I will be on the houston bandwagon all week.

They have a lousy record but if you noticed, they played with some real fire against Tenny. Tennessee doesn't have a great record either, but they have been playing lights out lately, so that Oakland win, to me, was impressive. That last JAX game is on the road in Oakland. You just gotta believe!!!

If they play tough for pride, who knows? Collins has been playing some good football recently. Maybe I'll even have to cross the Bay and cheer on the Raiders that day.
kota Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 The raiders are always tough to beat at home especially when the owner comes down and threatens to fire everyone on the team. I heard he did that this week.
Greg de'Ville Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 ...unlike the Faiders of 2003, who folded the tent early under Callahan, the 2004 Faiders have played teams hard and tough for Norv Turner throughout the season. I would expect nothing less than a max effort vs. Jax in their closer 1/2.

Their D can be tough, especially with big Ted and when Sapp decides to show up. You are right, they won't mail it in.

I'll be very pleased if they can win out, even if they don't make the playoffs because that ius one heck of an achievement. Then you have to believe that very good things will be ahead of us next year. I am certain that this team has a bright future. When you see the young guys like Evan and McGahee producing like they are, you've got to believe.
