Thoner7 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) Levitre/Wood/Gurode makes out interior pretty good and fairly deep. Rhinehart/Gurode/Urbik as the backups. I know its not the common belief among fans, and likely not amongst FO people, but I believe the interior three are more inportant that the two tackles. 1) QBs need to be able to step up in the pocket to avoid the inevitable outside rush. 2) 90% of all run plays are between the tackles. 3) Look at all the 'final four' teams in the playoffs the last 5 years. Not all of them have great tackles, heck msot dont. But ALL of them have one or [more often] two PB caliber interior lineman. Edited August 30, 2011 by Thoner7
Fan in Chicago Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 IMO, if we want him and he is healthy, we cut Hangartner and replace him with Gurode. Wood stays at C. Gurode, Urbik and Rinehart fight it out at the two OG spots and Gurode plays C if Wood goes down. It just makes us significantly better if Gurode is healthy. If he can play RG effectively and if he is healthy, I won't mind him as a stop gap.
I'm Spartacus Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 If he can play RG effectively and if he is healthy, I won't mind him as a stop gap. Why don't they use JASPER as the stop gap.
