miserable_fan Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 If you could build your ideal NFL franchise with current players, who would you choose? QB: Manning RB: Peterson FB: Leach TE: Witten WR: A. Johnson WR: C. Johnson LT: J. Thomas LG: Mankins C: Kalil RG: J. Evans (Cheated) RT: Long (Ya, I cheated again) DE: Freeney DT: Wilfork DT: K Williams (Had to show some Bills love) DE: Peppers OLB: Matthews MLB: Willis OLB: Ware CB: Revis CB: Asomugha SS: Polamalu FS: Reed K: Vinatieri (I don't care how old he is. The guy is money) P: Lechler

NoSaint Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 All fair- not sure about all the LBs being 3-4 guys And Evans plays RG for the saints- Carl nicks is the LG
Billsrhody Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Some one must be as bored as I am.. QB: Rodgers RB: Peterson FB: Leach TE: Gates WR: Fitzgerald WR: C. TheBlackMamba Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 QB: Manning - Aaron Rodgers RB: Peterson FB: Leach TE: Witten - Antonio Gates (i dont care how old he is, he still had 10 td catches last year and missed 5 or 6 games) WR: ]A. Johnson WR: C. Johnson LT: J. Thomas LG: Mankins C: Kalil - Nick Mangold RG: J. Evans - Carl Nicks RT: Long DE: Freeney - DT: Wilfork - Ndamukong Suh DT: K Williams - Haloti Ngata DE: Peppers OLB: Matthews MLB: Willis OLB: Ware OLB: LaMarr Woodley CB: Revis CB: Asomugha SS: Polamalu Eric Berry FS: Reed K: Vinatieri - Garrett Harley P: Lechler

And ya, but if I used a 3-4 scheme, I would have had to use guys like Justin Smith as a defensive end which just doesn't sound right in an "all NFL team". Maybe a Richard Seymour would sound alright.

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 SS: Polamalu Eric Berry Not sure about this. Berry had a good rookie season, but Polamalu is a proven game-changer and future HOFer.

The thread is called 'All NFL Team' and I would have very little disagreement with you, but if I were building a franchise I would go younger at a few of the positions then you went... QB: Rodgers (27) over Manning (35) WR: Fitzgerald (27) over A Johnson (31) C: Pouncey (22) over Kalil (26) DE C Johnson (25) over Peppers (31) DT: Suh (24) over Wilfork (29) SS Berry (22) over Reed (32)
EasternOHBillsFan Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I HAVE to go with a vast majority of younger guys- I want to win MULTIPLE championships as a dynasty QB: Philip Rivers (This guy is MONEY with WR talent around him) RB: Chris Johnson (Super fast, balanced, a gamebreaker) FB: Madison Hedgecock (Excellent blocker, which would be his only role) TE: Jared Cook (Great hands, nice speed, tremendous upside) WR: Andre Johnson (Understood) WR: Larry Fitzgerald (Understood) LT: Matt Light LG: Kris Dielman C: Maurkice Pouncey RG: Chris Snee RT: Michael Oher DE: Elvis Dumervil (MUST be double teamed) DT: Haloti Ngata (Only other extreme bull is Suh) DT: Marcell Dareus (WHY NOT?) DE: Mario Williams (Too fast to handle) OLB: James Harrison (Despite his controversies, he is very intense and great) MLB: Patrick Willis (Locks it down) OLB: Terrell Suggs (A true playmaker) CB: Darrelle Revis (Shutdown MAX) CB: Nnamdi Asomugha (Shutdown MAX) SS: Troy Polamalu (Without him, the Steelers defense is NOT the same) FS: Brandon Meriweather (12 INTs?!? I have to take him) K: Mason Crosby (kicks in GB weather, nuff said) P: Brian Moorman (Who else? Screw Lechler...)
miserable_fan Posted August 26, 2011 Author Posted August 26, 2011 Haha I was talking about one year, right now but I still can't argue with any of your teams. Although I feel that Merriweather is EXTREMELY overrated. He's a Byrd who can hit a bit harder and plays for a phenomenal defensive coach. Oh, and my extreme hatred for the Pats may influence my opinion a bit

Evans RT: Long DE: Freeney DT: Suh DT: K Williams DE: Peppers LB: Beason LB: Willis LB: Vilma (not the greatest physically but huge heart and very smart- out audibled manning in the SB- team captain and playcaller for my D) CB: Revis CB: Asomugha SS: Polamalu FS: Reed K: Crosby P: Lechler Lots of team captains, and rings going into tie breakers. Complimentary skill sets. A team that I think could play together without tooooo many egos. Although a few snuck in. If really lining up for a game I might even ditch a few more all pro athletes for some vet leaders and sacrifice a few stopwatch guys for heady players. Tried to strike a balance between best players and best team here. Edited August 27, 2011 by NoSaint
BiggieScooby Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I believe the 2011 Buffalo Bills would whoop up on your proposed All Pro team.

Another name you could have used could have been Andrew Luck and gotten the same result.
NewEra Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Nice team. I'd take Rogers over Manning, Suh over Wilfork and Finley over Witten..
