mousetrap08 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I live in Virginia and was told it was Ralph's wallet falling out of his pocket and hitting the ground. Ralph has a wallet? What for? With his short arms and deep pockets how can he even reach it.
bills_fan Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Same here. PS - if people are going to evacuate skyscrapers in an earthquake, the worst possible place for them to congregate is at the foot of that skyscraper... At least some building managers are smart enough to get people off the sidewalks. LOL! Yep. Looking at the streets below my building and they are full of people. Foolish. If I have to leave, I'm headed to Battery Park. Nothing above you that can fall on you.
McBeane Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I'm just south of Rochester right now and felt absolutely nothing. I was actually talking to a kid in Richmond when it hit and he was freaking out pretty bad. Wish I felt it.
DC Tom Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Same thing happened here. The guy next door to me didn't feel it, but then just about everyone else on my hall did. Maybe some people are so focused that they block things like that out?? Some people are simply more sensitive to the S-wave (which travels farther). When that got here, it felt like a big truck driving by the building. When the P-wave got here...no one mistook that.
TheMadCap Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Pretty intense here in Richmond. Hope everyone is ok!
KD in CA Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Friends in Stamford saying they felt it, but I guess I missed it.
BillsFanNC Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I was in the lab in RTP, NC and didn't feel it, but everyone in my office area did.

Guffalo Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 We are in lower Manhattan, our building was evacuated, felt the whole building sway....
Peace Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Just got sent home... into bumper to bumper traffic. I'm going to the gym before home. Better be open.

DC Billin' Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 in DC as well and we had to get out of the building, was pretty intense for a second there. Kind of like Maybin's pass rush ability
