bbb Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Just read this on today's Alan Pergament blog: * According to a Tampa Bay newspaper, Sal Capaccio — who is known as Coach Sal in the Sarasota, Fla. area — will be coming back to his Buffalo home to host a Saturday afternoon show and Bills post-game wrapup on Sundays for WGR-AM. The Tampa Bay Media Examiner report also said Capaccio will host a weekly show on Time Warner Cable. The Examiner added that Coach Sal also has a show called Buffalo Bills Now on Justin.tv. I almost always defend S&B on here, because I like their weekday show more than most people here, but they are so horrible on postgame, that I hope I'm write about what how I'm reading this.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 On Sal's show from last night he said he was doing the "post-post game show" meaning he would come on two hours after Schopp and the Dope to mop up. Did something change or did Pergament/the Examiner mix up their facts? BTW nothing would make me happier than losing the twin a--holes on the WGR post-game show. They always sounded like they hated being there anyway. If you ever heard Sal do a post-game online he was light years better. PTR
Robchester Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I don't mind S&B as much as many of you, but I am getting tired of hearing how much Mike doesn't care about the Bills, or football, or sports....

I forgot about that post post game. I forgot who did it last year......I was hoping that Sal was going to do the 2 hours or whatever that S&B have been doing. You're right - they always sound like they hate being there. I don't mind S&B as much as many of you, but I am getting tired of hearing how much Mike doesn't care about the Bills, or football, or sports.... I totally agree with every word you said.

bbb Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 FYI I looked everywhere online and can't find the Pergament article you cite. Is there a link? PTR It's the last bullet point in the article: My link BTW, his blog is really good, IMO. He doesn't hold back on any opinions, as evidenced by the Ed Kilgore stuff. He takes cracks at Jeff Simon and other guys at the News. And, since the News has nobody doing TV/Radio columns anymore, this would be the place to go.

Malazan Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 That blog is pretty good. I had to stop reading after I read that the Buffalo News gave Jerry Sullivan a RAISE to STAY
todd Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Their "sports talk" show is the most stupid and unprofessional thing I've heard. Bob Matthews' show is better than theirs. It is incredibly Bush league. I don't mind S&B as much as many of you, but I am getting tired of hearing how much Mike doesn't care about the Bills, or football, or sports....

Listening to Schopp beat up on wasted callers is usually the most fun part of a Bills Sunday for me, unfortunately.

Agreed. How many times can a sports commentator say that on the Air without losing their job??? Where else could you do this? What other profession could someone tell everyone around them that they hate the basis for their job and still keep it?

This. Yesterday's show was ridiculous. I listened for five minutes, sighed and switched to Sirius.
