Astrobot Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 From Chris Brown: "Last week Andy Levitre rotated with Chad Rinehart at left guard. Then he played center for a short spell in Saturday’s game. Now he’s lining up at another position. Levitre is taking his primary snaps as the starting left guard, but he’s also taking snaps at left tackle with the second unit in place of Ed Wang. We’ll have more on this after practice."

This thread should be named "Wang Demoted" Seriously though, I think Levitre played LT in college. Given our tackle woes, this may be an effort to see who can fit at areas of critical need. But, again, I think this is not a big deal especially as he is in with the second unit and the fact that there have been lot of combinations being tried. Edited August 22, 2011 by Fan in Chicago
John from Riverside Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 So rather then Levitre being in trouble it is really about them liking his versitility and seeing what all he can do. Personally? I think he ends up at LG and Rhinehart moves to RG
apuszczalowski Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 What about Wood Demoted for some time in Saturdays game? Or maybe Bills to try new o-line with Levitre playing every position?

Andy Levitre is better suited for LT in my opinion

K-9 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 What about Wood Demoted for some time in Saturdays game? Or maybe Bills to try new o-line with Levitre playing every position? Huh? Did I miss something? GO BILLS!!!
Joe Miner Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Levitre is bringing some stiff competition to every position on the line.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Just training camp experimentation....I wouldn't read too much into this. If Bell gets injured Levitre is the most capable candidate to step in at LT, therefore, he needs to get some "burn" at the position during the pre-season. Bell will still be our starting LT down the stretch.

Johnny Hammersticks Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Andy Levitre is better suited for LT in my opinion Yeah, if it weren't for his T-Rex arms.
Coach Tuesday Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 They are going to cut Ed Wang and are trying to figure out if they need to sign a swing tackle or if they can make do (read: save money) with what is already on the roster.

Levitre goes limp, but Rhinehart promotion short lived as hard-man Andy Levitre is promoted again and moved to Center and Left Guard but also part time demoted to second team Left Tackle, Wang out like Wood in sweatpants....should be the title.
K-9 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 from the original Post "Then he played center for a short spell in Saturday’s game." I see. That was in the fourth quarter for a series well after the first unit was off the field. Wood's position is secure. GO BILLS!!!
Joe Miner Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I see. That was in the fourth quarter for a series well after the first unit was off the field. Wood's position is secure. GO BILLS!!! Levitre is there just in case Wood goes down. As long as Wood holds up, Levitre won't be needed.
John from Riverside Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Levitre might actually be our starting LT if it werent his short arms......but he moves extremeley well

RuntheDamnBall Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 According to Bleacher Report, Levitre is spending extended sessions on the rack after practice, to stretch those arms into NFL length.
artmalibu Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Andy filled in at LT before and did pretty well for a rookie out of position. I think that they are seeing that if bell or pears goes down we dont have a suitable replacement.
