cmjoyce113 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) Tim Graham just said on twitter he is hearing it's spillers job to lose, not Freddy. I find this interesting and I think it would be a good thing. Edited August 21, 2011 by cmjoyce113
Ronin Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Tim Graham just said on twitter he is hearing it's spillers job to lose, not Freddy. I find this interesting and I think it would be a good thing. Well, it looks like he lost it. LOL
vincec Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I have really not been impressed with Gailey's player management in this preseason or last. He just seems determined to play guys based on their size or perceived athleticism rather than their playmaking ability. Trent Edwards as the starting QB. Moats to ILB. Spiller over Jackson. Lynch over Jackson. Urbik over Hangartner. Rinehart over Levitre.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 When will Jackson get respect? The guy has run better than any back we've had here in years. But I guess if you waste a top-10 pick on a RB (as we love to do), then you're obligated to start him.

My money is on the FJ to end up being the man yet again this season.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Tim Graham just said on twitter he is hearing it's spillers job to lose, not Freddy. I find this interesting and I think it would be a good thing. I think you are drinking too much Kool-aid.
cmjoyce113 Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 What kool aid would that be? If Spiller is able to beat out Freddie that means he will have improved. I think have Freddie as your #2 is a great problem to have. Not drinking any kool aid just a thought.
CodeMonkey Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Spiller lost the job last night in my opinion. He sucked.
HeHateMe Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Spiller lost the job last night in my opinion. He sucked. This... He has absolutely no awareness to speak of. Can't read a play to save his life. Can't block. Can't wait for blocks. Can't see holes. Tries to bust the long run when there are 5 yards to be easily had, then he turns into a gain of 2. Throw in the worst starting oline in football and you have the game we all saw last night.
Smears Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Spiller isn't an every down back. I think everyone agrees with that. Jackson will be the #1 again this year. The changing of centers confuses me.

DefenseWins Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 im starting to think the same thing Actually, it goes back to Spiller vs Bulaga...
filthymcnasty08 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) This feels like a Rob Johnson/Flutie-esque meddling Ralph move: "Why am I paying this high-priced supposedly-prolific player if a cheap aquisition can outplay him. Let's see what this guy can do." All things being equal - Freddie deserves to start. Edited August 21, 2011 by filthymcnasty08
tbradypain Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Actually, it goes back to Spiller vs Bulaga... Spiller is just too small to play every down. he has the same problem as reggie bush. exciting and game breaking but not durable and dependable.
CosmicBills Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Spiller is just too small to play every down. he has the same problem as reggie bush. exciting and game breaking.... He hasn't shown either of those traits in the NFL.
Ralonzo Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 The changing of centers confuses me. Not after watching a couple of years of Wilfork and Jenkins mauling Hamburglar.
