Erik Flowers Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Prosecutors aren't suppose to divulge information about cases before they go to grand jury to avoid convicting the innocent. Leaking things to the media contaminates the jury pool. That's a partially true colloquialism. Prosecutors are limited in what they can say to the press, but not to the NFL. The police and prosecutors can give the NFL their entire file if they want. Besides, if he is charged prior to grand jury, the felony complaint is public, as is the police docket. And if he is charged and a preliminary hearing on the felony is conducted, it's a public hearing that anyone can attend.
box0life Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I guess I was late, just got home from work and didn't read through all the other posts. Man, I hope this steroids thing isn't true. This would be a huge blow.

bills1960 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 And there still hasn't been any real publication that has written about this?
Kelly the Dog Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Merriman just tweeted about saying goodbye to St John Fisher until next year. OMG! This must mean he was suspended for the whole year!!! If this is true, I'm taking my car and running over the next 8 year old girl in my path.
RuntheDamnBall Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 And there still hasn't been any real publication that has written about this? Even if they intend to run the story, no way, no how are they doing so without verifying sources, fact-checking and understanding the ramifications of printing them. I'll give Moran this: he is definitely putting himself out there if this happens to be false; without suggesting anyone run over his kid, it either means he's trusting someone he shouldn't, he's ignorant of how open he's leaving himself, or he is telling the truth.
need therapy Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 (edited) And there still hasn't been any real publication that has written about this? That's mainly because Moran says "source" not "sources." A real publication will not print a story unless it can confirm its information with at least two independent sources. This is how journalists attempt to verify a story before making such an allegation. Mr. Moran does not appear to be so constrained. If I were him, or any of the folks at his website, I would be concerned about a potential libel suit from Merriman. If this is not true, and I don't believe it is, then Moran has a lot of 'splaining to do. Edited August 18, 2011 by need therapy
Reed83HOF Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 During the video chat with tim graham and jay Skurski from the Bills news they said they wouldn't address it if it was a rumor... Tim Graham just tweeted that he is looking into it with his contacts... http://twitter.com/#!/ByTimGraham

eball Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Merriman just ruled out for Saturday. Chan: "We made the decision that he will not play. We'll let him get back to close to full speed and hopefully get him back next week." I think that just about says it all.

Excellent work!
Rockinon Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 News without a source is not news. Moran doesn't have a thing or this would be all over the media. He'd better be careful. Merriman isn't afraid of suing someone.
