GG Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Akoye, Gholson & Maybin? Lovie is turning Bears into an Al Davis rehab clinic of wasted 1st rounders. (He was also willing to gamble on Gaines Adams)
shoretalk Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Just goes to prove that at least one NFL coach believes in helping the helpless ... good for Lovie!

Chandler#81 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Loved this from the comments: lumas101 says: Aug 16, 2011 11:30 AM Your team gives up nine sacks in one preseason game. Your opponent releases one of the few pass rushers who didn’t have any of those nine sacks and THAT’S the guy you want?
Beerball Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 More like a crash test dummy than a blocking/tackling dummy.

Green Lightning Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Loved this quote: "Maybin has zero sacks in his career, but if he does end up with the Bears, he wouldn’t be the biggest draft bust of a pass rusher on the team. That honor goes to Vernon Gholston, who was drafted sixth overall by the Jets in 2008 and also has zero career sacks." This could make for either a great Las Vegas bet or an even better reality show....who gets their first NFL sack - Gholston or Maybin? Could be a multiple season show or better yet, have a "shoot out" at the Superbowl halftime. Pick an OL and let them each rush until one connects.

My favorites are the ones who think Maybin is some kind of diamond in the rough. "After all he was a #1 pick for a reason!" Yeah...PED's, inferior competition in college, and a gullible NFL coach! ricojes Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 So to summarize the article...paying $757,500 for a "pass rushing specialist", who has 0 sacks in his 2 year career, isn't a bad deal...Got to love that logic...

What is funny, to me, you read the comments, and you realize fans are the same everywhere...except Miami!
