LGB Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 The Bills have not been able to compete against the Pats in the AFC East in quite some time. For every improvement the Bills make, the Pats seem to counter every year with Belichick adjustments. Will this be the year that the Bills beat the Pats? The Bills own the record for losing the most consecutive times to one team in the history of the NFL and the fact has been that the Bills just need to be able to beat New England if they ever want a whiff of the post-season play. Surely CHIX knows this and by now has made the correct adjustments to compete in the trenches and/or have coached the OL to the point where Buffalo can beat the Pats in 2011. Heck, the Bills have probably improved so much that their record listed below will soon become a distant memory - right? 12/27/03: Patriots 31, Bills 0 10/03/04: Patriots 31, Bills 17 11/14/04: Patriots 29, Bills 6 10/30/05: Patriots 21, Bills 16 12/11/05: Patriots 35, Bills 7 09/10/06: Patriots 19, Bills 17 10/22/06: Patriots 28, Bills 6 09/23/07: Patriots 38, Bills 7 11/18/07: Patriots 56, Bills 10 11/09/08: Patriots 20, Bills 10 12/28/08: Patriots 13, Bills 0 09/14/09: Patriots 25, Bills 24 12/20/09: Patriots 17, Bills 10 09/26/10: Patriots 38, Bills 30 12/26/10: Patriots 34, Bills 3

Hey, I'm just as much of a 'win now' guy as anyone, but let's not roast Gailey and Nix after one just season for being behind the Pats. Beating NE will come in time, just like it always does, but they are a good team, well coached, and have a system that's been in place for over a decade. It'll take more than two drafts, 1 season of coaching, and some house cleaning to become the class of the division. Baby steps.

Competing in the division would be good (that would mean better than 4-12 or something like .500) - figuring that the Bills (on average) change their coaching staff every three years, it would be good to have better results sooner rather than later - before we have to "rebuild" again. This after so many years of being owned by NE. Let's go Buffalo!
RkFast Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 One of the league's elite teams over the last decade wipes the floor with one of the league's worst. Youre really on to something there, Einstein.
DJasper Probincrux III Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Lee Evans scares them. I had to look. DYK that Lee Evans has only scored 1 TD against the Patriots despite playing them twice a year for his whole career? I just thought it was interesting to look at the list. Fish 8 Jets 5 Ravens 4 Titans 3 Bengals 3 49ers 2 Texans 2 Chiefs 2 Giants 1 Bucs 1 Cards 1 Bears 1 Raiders 1 Jaguars 1 Packers 1 Browns 1 Colts 1 Pnthers 1 Seahwks 1 Pats 1 Chrgers 1 Rams 1
LGB Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Right, this thing won't be fixed overnight...we are on the 15 year plan. Here's hoping Gailey pulls it out - as he is the latest guy on the Bill's three year (or less) coaching carousel cycle to give it a shot. Gregg Williams 2001–2003 .354 Mike Mularkey 2004–2005 .438 Dick Jauron 2006–2009 .421 Perry Fewell 2009 .429 Chan Gailey 2010- .250 Go Bills!

I thought that was the case
LGB Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 so you're saying Mike Murlarkey has been our best coach . . . I thought that was the case It would be great to break the streak of 15 consecutive loses against the same team in your division and be competitive before another coaching staff is brought in (since it appears that the Bill's change their staff every three years) - Chan might need more time to turn this thing around. Go Bills
Ronin Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Right, this thing won't be fixed overnight...we are on the 15 year plan. LOL
