Corp000085 Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Check out the Patriots draftees during the same time, please; maybe the perspective will help. 2000-no pick 2001-Richard Seymour 2002-Daniel Graham 2003-Ty Warren 2004-Vincent Wilfork 2004-Benjamin Watson 2005-Logan Mankins 2006-Laurence Maroney 2007-Brandon Meriweather 2008-Jerod Mayo 2009-no pick 2010-Devin McCourty 2011-Nate Solder
CosmicBills Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Interesting summary it makes you wonder who has had the final decision in who first round draft choice will be? It makes me think Ralph picks the first round and then falls asleep from all the activity for his customary 72 hour nap.
K-No Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Geez, with this draft history it might not be bad to hear the Bills say they are gonna rebuild thru free agency.
NoSaint Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 well, its less painful to say he played here for nearly a decade. the track record is pretty damning, but after 6-7 years pretty much every teams board would be bust or gone outside a very small handful of guys. there are only like 6 guys from the first round in 2004 still on their teams. and ill give you a hint, 3 of them are the qbs taken before ours. otherwise i think its fitzgerald, jackson, and will smith
Shamrock Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/132611-does-re-signing-your-draft-picks-mean-anything/page__p__2205992__hl__shamrock__fromsearch__1#entry2205992 I wondered this awhile back, Does re-signing your draft picks mean anything anymore?

Our scouts can't be that terrible; when it comes to the undrafted FAs we tend to do pretty good with them. If they can identify them, they should be able to identify draftable talent as well. Our decision makers have been pathetic. Out of curiosity, does anyone know how many of our scouts have been replaced? I recall seeing we added some more but were some actually let go as well? This is a skewed stat the only reason those undrafted guys make the team is that the drafted guys suck so bad they create too many to full roster spots

Well .... maybe McKelvin, Wood, Spliller, and Dareus will develop into star players? 2000-no pick 2001-Richard Seymour 2002-Daniel Graham 2003-Ty Warren 2004-Vincent Wilfork 2004-Benjamin Watson 2005-Logan Mankins 2006-Laurence Maroney 2007-Brandon Meriweather 2008-Jerod Mayo 2009-no pick 2010-Devin McCourty 2011-Nate Solder 2001-Richard Seymour - Pro Bowler 2002-Daniel Graham - Decent player 2003-Ty Warren - Very Good Player 2004-Vincent Wilfork - Pro Bowler 2004-Benjamin Watson - Decent player 2005-Logan Mankins - Pro Bowler 2006-Laurence Maroney - Good Player 2007-Brandon Meriweather - ? 2008-Jerod Mayo - Looks like a stud 2009-no pick 2010-Devin McCourty -- TBD 2011-Nate Solder --- TBD I would say they win in a landslide. Notice that 5 lineman are picked out of 10 players and they are their best picks too (along with Mayo at LB)
