Frez Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 We NEED to move the chains. We don't NEED a big body guy in order to do that. We have wrs with some decent size. This post is irrelevant IMO. Will see how well this WR corp can move the chains this year to years past. Haven't you ever noticed how our WR's get tossed around by opposing teams?
Buffaloed in Pa Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Well if Easley could stay healthy, maybe him or Donald Jones. Jones is said to be strong. Size might be overrated, look at Hines Ward. Tough pass receiver everywhere with a smallish body. Steve Smith and others. I`m happy with our recievers.
....lybob Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 This post confuses me a bit....you do realize that with the exception of Evans (who has a very strong upper body..stocky) and Parrish EVERY one of our WR's is over 6' tall and most are over 200 pounds? This is not counting Easley because of the injury right now..... Then there is Scott Chandler at 270 pounds a former wide reciever and is catching everything thrown at him it seems. I'm glad you said that because I was thinking the same thing- unless he means we don't have a Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall or Vince Jackson then he's correct but I don't think there's a master plan by the Bills to avoid big WRs that can run like the wind.
Frez Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 (edited) This years Buffalo Bills receivers need to be tougher, more physical, more aggressive, nasty -mean mother !@#$ers on the field. That's all I'm asking for. GO BILLS! Well if Easley could stay healthy, maybe him or Donald Jones. Jones is said to be strong. Size might be overrated, look at Hines Ward. mjohns85 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 i dont care how tall our receivers are. all i care about is if they can produce. how tall are steve smith and d-jack?
Speedy G Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 they look like they are using some TE's in the offense, I know, I know no studs but there is room if one becomes available ...
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 So who is going to be our big body WR that will go across on slant routes and be physical? I don't see one on this roster has of yet. Most of our healthy WR's are smallish. It would be nice to see Marcus Easley in action this preseason. We are going to need a WR of this size to make a serious run at the playoffs anytime soon. David Nelson 6'5" 221 Plus all the WRs are over 200 except 2 so it looks like we are plenty big enough.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 The Bills Roster… sortable by position. http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster.html Reports I've read are that Paul Hubbard is big and has looked impressive and that Steve Johnson appears to be much larger than his listed 205 pounds. We know that having large receivers was the philosophy in San Diego and with few exceptions, the Bills have a pretty large group.
The Wiz Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 (edited) Is our TE's going to be "pass catchers" this year? That is the question my friend. If not, Roscoe and Lee Evans are not the over the middle type of WR's if you're asking me. As opposed to the past 8 seasons? Last Pass catching TE we had was Riemersma. At least the last pass catching TE that was actually used. Why we don't just put another lineman in there as an eligible receiver is beyond me since basically that's all our TE's do is block. TE will be routinely blocking and that's about it. Maybe run an under route for 4 yards here and there but doubt you will see a post out of one this season. Edited August 7, 2011 by The Wiz

I was about 20 feet from him today--you're right, he looks bigger than 205.
