Robchester Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I don't recall exactly how big Pete Metzelaars was, but this kid looks huge. He looks reasonably athletic and can catch the ball. Hard to believe he was cut from another team. Anyone know why?

jr1 Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 You're right about the size comparison. Pete Metzelaars was 6-7 254. Chandler's 6-7 268. I don't know why NYG, SD and Dallas didn't want to keep him. He runs a 4.78 40 according to nfldraftscout.com

Lurker Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 He is a big dude. Could be Paul Seymour 2.0 or Pauly Shore, Jr. Who knows. If it's the former, it would be a real bonus for the running game. The slot WR most likely will get most of the catches that typically go to the TE anyway.
starrymessenger Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Chandler has excellent hands, as his career as a Hawkeye demonstrates. He was actually a WR before becoming a TE. He was definitely not outclassed by Miller or Boss at the combine. He has been buried in the depth chart behind probowl type guys in SD and in Dallas. He is certainly big enuf to be an effective blocker, and has athleticism. He is a very good prospect. Good job Buddy!
