Point of note: the only ones calling it a "civil right" are the NY Post. Everyone else calls it what it is: an assistance program (the wisdom of which is certainly up for debate.)

Been seeing and bitching about these "Assurance" commercials in CT for months now. Yep, cell phones are a necessity. This is getting %$#@ing ridiculous.

Yup. It's not like this is some newfangled program brought by the socialist Obamites. Biggest proponents & recepients of these funds? Friends & supporters of that lefty Trent Lott.

Good thing NY Post stands vigilant. What would we do without them?

I've seen ads here in Va, also in Fl and RI for quite a long time. <_<

Yeah I get those Safelink mailings from time to time. I make more than enough money so I don't qualify for their free service, but I do qualify to pay for somebody else's free service :wallbash:

That's unbelievable.

I've never even owned a cellphone cuz the one in my kitchen works just fine and I don't need to be paying for something unneeded.

But next I'll be paying for somebody else to have one they don't need?

wtf

Do like I did. Bought a prepaid, all money up front, no monthly bill. I never use it, it stays in my car just like my spare tire-there if I need it.
