jwolf02 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Really kind of a cool new stat - at least at first glance - to measure the entirety of a QB's performance instead of just the passing portion. Haven't found any numbers yet, but Fitzy, according to the post, graded out as average - with the likes of Sanchez, Cassel, Orton, and Palmer. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/tag/_/name/qbr I haven't dug too deep but I'd be interested to see how Jimbo graded out. I've always argued that he was a much better QB than he was a passer, especially in arguments comparing him to Dan Marino.
Malazan Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 awesome, they spent a lot of time to tell us what most people already knew.
BillsWatch Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Until they include all the things QBs do - run occasionally (or a lot), block, tackle when necessary, draw players offside, do fakes, handoff w/o telegraphing it to defense getting RB hammered, etc it will be a system designed to favor certain QBs. Marino was so praised by press despite not being able to do so many things needed to be a complete QB; he telegraphed moves so much that RBs took a lot of unnecessary punishment.
