Fezmid Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Anyone see the Jags "fumble" play? The ref ruled that it was a fumble because the ball was in the palm of the hand when it was pushed forward. Call me crazy, but if he pushed it forward, isn't that still a pass? Not that I'm complaining... Very surreal play though -- the Jags picked up the "fumble," Sharper then knocked the ball out of his hand (as nobody on the field thought it was a fumble), and the Packers picked it up and ran it in for a TD. I still don't see how that was a fumble.. But I'll take it. Hopefully that demoralizes the Jags (and charges up the Packers). GO PACK GO! CW
MadBuffaloDisease Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 I don't give a sh-- who else gets screwed by the refs. The Bills have been screwed enough by them this year that payback is a B word.
BillnutinHouston Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Good call. Good for the Bills but also the right call.
Indy Dave Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 The ruling was that the ball came out of Leftwich's hand, then he batted it forward...much like a volleyball player spiking the ball. The Jacksonville offensive lineman gets credit for a fumble recovery and a fumble lost, while Sharper gets credited with a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a touchdown. Two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries (one for each team) on the same play...very rare.
