Benjamin Franklin Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 (edited) Ben used it just the opposite way on me. You DON'T believe in aliens? You must believe in flat Earth. I know there are a lot of whack-a-doos out there. So many that we definitely don't need to invent any for disinformation campaigns. I think the flat Earth dudes and the sovereign citizens are real life whack-a-doos. A free society give birth to lots of things. Most enrich our lives and whack-a-doos are in that group because the are funny. If you ask people whether they think there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe almost everyone says yes. If you don't believe it or even if you aren't sure, you are deemed a flat Earther, or arrogant or some other crap. That isn't fair. BTW most people did believe in flat Earth back in the day. Most people now believe in intelligent alien life. One group was wrong, the other is probably wrong. Relax dude. This is a thread about nothing but wacky theories. You said something about Flat Earthers and I linked to that crazy video. You're fighting with yourself. Edited June 28, 2017 by Benjamin Franklin Quote

Benjamin Franklin Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Flat Earth is a disinfo meme created to discredit legitimate researchers (in all conspiracy subjects, not just the ETI question). Works something like this: "You believe in aliens?! You probably believe the Earth is flat too!" kind of thing. Maybe. But it's also something people are latching onto as truth. I know one such, who loves these videos and finds it empowering that he knows more than I do about the flat earth, moon landing, and other out there theories. I'd be less worried if the joke wasn't being believed to be true. See Scientology. Quote

There are too many things for me to count when it comes to flat Earth conspiracies that just make it head scratching. #1 on the list....why? If the Earth were flat, what purpose could possibly be served by tricking everyone into thinking it was round. The historical flat Earthers are understandable. They just didn't know any better. These guys? Whoa. Quote

Deranged Rhino Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Maybe. But it's also something people are latching onto as truth. I know one such, who loves these videos and finds it empowering that he knows more than I do about the flat earth, moon landing, and other out there theories. I'd be less worried if the joke wasn't being believed to be true. See Scientology. Per the bolded, that's the intent (imo). Disinfo only works if enough people believe it to confuse the discourse on a subject. There are a lot of gullible folk out there desperate to "know" ... well, anything. The goal is to get a big enough following that it distracts from other, more "grounded" research and researchers talking about similar subjects. In the case of Flat Earth, it has all the markings of a coordinated disinformation meme from how it started to how it spread to now how it's used as a punchline. Speculating here, but based on the timing of Flat Earth being rolled out (roughly 3 years ago now) and how it's being used, it seems the purpose has been to taint any alternative media outlet (or independent researcher) as being untrustworthy. "Look! They had an article about flat earth - they're fake news"... even if said article was debunking the theory itself. Considering I believe we are firmly in the middle of an information war - launching a disinfo campaign to smear the one segment of the "media" that's outside of corporate or government control, is a no-brainer tactic (pun intended). The UFO subject in general has been infiltrated by disinfo agents since the very beginning (see the Mirage Men as a good example). There is a voluminous paper trail through FOIA requests which shows since at least 1947 the US government has worked to infiltrate and subvert these sorts of communities and groups by leaking disinfo and causing division. I have a neighbor who's the same way and his big thing is "chemtrails." I just avoid him at all costs. Tom can tell you about chemtrails. Quote

SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Scientists just teleported an object into space for the first time Researchers in China sent a photon from the ground to a satellite 300 miles above the earth through a process known as quantum entanglement. A proton? Quote

A proton? This is actually quite a big story, though I'm not sure it's UFO/ET related (not that it matters ). China's making huge advancements in quantum communication, which is going to play a key role in their new Silk Road project that is now becoming a global project encompassing several nations. They might even be ahead of the US in that field at this time depending on who you listen to. It's a cool development though - key to the quantum internet. Quote
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Once "improved" You could be teleported to the Alien moon base in minutes and then to Mars in 15!!! Quote

Deranged Rhino Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 me things you leave "ton Post" off he link and you see what he was doing The Huffington Post. I'll say this about Basiago's claims: he sincerely believes them to be true. Had the opportunity to speak with him a few times, he comes off as highly intelligent (he's an Oxford guy) and personable. He's either a high functioning schizophrenic, a PT Barnum worthy con-man, or these things actually happened to him. For me the jury remains out. But regardless of the truth of it all, Project Pegasus is a really fun rabbit hole to dive down as it has everything: time travel, teleportation, Mars colonies, DARPA projects, and ETIs. Quote
