4merper4mer Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 I want a Von Neumann probe for Christmas but sitcom math won't let me have one. Quote
4merper4mer Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Ok let's suspend sitcom math for a minute and imagine that there are thousands upon thousands of intelligent life forms our there. Do you think even one of them named a planet after their butt hole like we did? Quote
mead107 Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 At least we didn’t name after a female front part. ? Quote
4merper4mer Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 MIT math is even better than sitcom math but both conclude the very same thing: 1 1 Quote

Foxx Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 REPEATED RADIO SIGNALS COMING FROM GALAXY 1.5 BILLION LIGHT YEARS AWAY, SCIENTISTS ANNOUNCE 1 Quote

So this was discovered by some outfit in BC, Canada. Wouldn't repeating blasts of radio waves coming from 1.5 billion light years away be, pretty much, what SETI is dreaming to find some day? So why didn't they discover this? What are they doing over there?! Interesting to note that we have never received more than a single emission of radio waves from far out in space, but this one repeated multiple times. Makes you wonder. I bet it has some natural phenomenon explanation, but it's still interesting as hell. I'd love to have one of the scientists directly involved with this talk to Joe Rogan on his podcast for 3 hours; would be some interesting stuff. 1 Quote
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Northrop Grumman-Built TESS Observatory Spots Distant Planets The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, TESS, built by Northrop Grumman for NASA and led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has discovered a third small planet outside our solar system. Scientists announced this finding during the annual American Astronomical Society meeting in Seattle. @Degenerate Mike in HHDS (LAMP) 2 Quote

Foxx Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 be careful that if your going to a Sabres game, you don't end up in Lake Ontario. GPS satellites operate off this. Earth’s magnetic field is acting up and geologists don’t know why 1 Quote
