The Big Cat Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Didn't see this on front page but apparently Smith is being designated "quarterback." How does that price tag sit now?
swnybillsfan Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 doesn't really matter what you call him if he can play 7 different positions and have a great attitude and be productive doing it. i really like this signing.
8-8 Forever? I want guys who throw things around the locker room when they lose.
QCity Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I just assumed it was obvious he was going to be our #3 QB per the new CB rules.

silvermike Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 This is the most value we can reasonably get out of that roster spot, I think. He's a much better QB than any other potential 3rd on the roster who also plays a skill position (Jackson? Parrish?) It's clever, and it does make the team better.

Imagine the game plan fits for opposing defenses if Fitz and Smith go 60 40 on snaps. gotta prep for two different offenses
Doc Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Ideally, Fitz and Smith are on the field together on virtually all snaps. Smith can play WR and RB, so it's not like you're wasting one of the 11 guys.
