G-Daddy Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Don't count your chickens just yet. C'mon Buddy, sign him up.
Thunderstealer Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 What about Williams and Darius? Exactly!! Suh had a great year, Fairley should be good, but Williams and the first Big D lineman of the draft ain't chopped liver.
PromoTheRobot Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Barnett Cancels Detroit trip, stays in Buffalo Buffalo or SJF? PTR
bills1960 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 @MarkLud12 Mark Ludwiczak by SalSports Barnett watched morning walk-through. Leaving field, said with a smile to Nix: "You on the phone?" Went to locker room with players.

Straight up, right now, forgetting age and assuming good health for both, who do you think is a better ILB for this defense - Poz or Barnett?
DanInSouthBuffalo Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Lions just signed Stephen Tulloch to a 5 year deal. May help our chances in landing Barnett. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/31/lions-sign-stephen-tulloch/ According to ESPN that Tulloch deal is a one-year deal @ $3.35 million. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6820696/detroit-lions-sign-linebacker-stephen-tulloch-one-year-deal

Straight up, right now, forgetting age and assuming good health for both, who do you think is a better ILB for this defense - Poz or Barnett? you can assume good health, but cant forget to factor in age. Id say its about a push, and Im leaning towards Poz. But Barnett is at least a good shot at a replacement. Good enws is our DLine is much improved from last year so that will help Barnett. Barnett is too old for this team, he is like 30. We need long term investments ie young guys... thats what our whole strategy is about. Guaranteed we dont sign this guy. We have young guys that we drafted. The purpose of Barnett will be to play as a stop-gap until (at least) Sheppard is ready.

26CornerBlitz Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Well hopefully it's him and sheppard with moatsy and batten backing up If they do sign Barnett....Hopefully Moats will go back to OLB.
billsfaninvgs Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Well hopefully it's him and sheppard with moatsy and batten backing up I read somewhere that Batten was moved back to the outside. It said something about it being his more natural position.
CSBill Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 (edited) If they do sign Barnett....Hopefully Moats will go back to OLB. agree, Moats seems far better suited for the outside Edited July 31, 2011 by CSBill
billsfaninvgs Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Coleman rotated with Danny Batten who is back at his more natural outside linebacker spot.
ronnieroscoe Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 this looks like a guy who knows he is signing... http://www.fanfeedr.com/football/nick-barnett/
Scrappy Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 http://www.fanfeedr.com/nfl/2011/07/31/barnett-attends-walk-thru
bills1960 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I doubt they'd let a FA go watch the team run plays without having a general understanding of where he intends on signing. But I guess that's just me, I have no idea what the Bills are thinking sometimes.
DrDawkinstein Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Well hopefully it's him and sheppard with moatsy and batten backing up Id think we'd have Barnett and Davis starting at ILB, with Sheppard and Torbor backing up. Until Sheppard is ready to start, that is.
