rpcolosi Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 To start this off.... Don't be surprised one bit that Sheppard hasn't signed. You think his agent isn't aware of the Bills' crisis at ILB and that his clietn's value is jjjust a little bit higher? He is in a position of strength and will bargain for an extra year or more guaranteed $$$. Sounds crazy for a 3rd rounder, but this is how agent's think. Now onto my points. There are a lot of ILB out there, and a lot of good ones. As nix said, there are more waiver wire cut's coming. We all know Poz isn't worth his contract. Leadership and tackling is great, but when you can't cover a RB or a TE as a LB, that severely limits your skill set and ability to play within certain defensive schemes. Here are my top ILB still out there: Barrett Ruud (Scouts inc 75), 28yo tackling machine for TB http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/fa?playerId=8450 Steven Tulloch (Scouts inc 79) 29yo played MLB for Titans, would have to adjust to 3-4 http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/fa?playerId=9702 steven cooper (Scouts in 75) 31yo solid started at ILB for SD, was drafted with Nix there http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/fa?playerId=4877 jamel mcclain (scouts inc 69) 26yo, became a solid starter for Ravens last year - I think I like him because he's jacked, physical and comes from a nasty defense. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5031/jameel-mcclain McClain is actually who I want more than anyone. He is young, he is big, he is nasty, and he comes from a winning team. This is the kind of guy I want - modestly priced, huge upside. Cooper is a solid vet addition as are the others, but I really hope that Nix takes a look at McClain. One negative - he is hte guy who laid that illeale hit on Heath Miller last year.
bills1960 Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Buddy said in his presser if theres a linebacker out there that can give us depth he'd make a move. nice to know.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 But they want money. Our 3rd rounder thinks he`s a 1st round stud. Look at all the the praise heaped on his bills twitter account. Nix needs to nut up and pay one of these vets. Torbor is a joke.
Got_Wood Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Don't forget about Nick Barnett and Kirk Morrison. Both good inside options also. Plenty of talent still out there.

Ghost of Rob Johnson Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 How does Crowder grade out? Don't have insider.

Ghost of Rob Johnson Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 They like money. Torbor and crew come cheap ? You're right, Ralph is cheap.
The Jokeman Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Is Kirk Morrison an UFA? Because if he was there'd be no excuse for them not to go after him. He's a reason not to, the Jaguars signed Poz instead of re-signing Morrison.
Thoner7 Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Rocky McIntosh from Wash is very good, but maybe not a 3-4 guy. He played a lot for them, but Wash let him go so I assume he is more of a 4-3 guy. I sitll like Bradley Stweart or Stewart Bradley from Philly. Hes a pretty good dude too.
aussiebills Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 If we want Barnett have to act quickly, according to underneath lions are negotiating http://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2011/7/29/2304087/green-bay-packers-rumors-nick-barnett-detroit-lions-nfl-free-agency-2011
billsfaninvgs Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I like the idea of signing Tulloch... Or Rudd.
Defend Greece Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 We need to keep a gigantic neck around, like poz and takeo before him

Wanted Stewart Bradley but he just signed with the Cardinals but McClain would be awesome.
