Mike In Illinois Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Schefter reports the contract is fully guaranteed.
Green Lightning Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 How long before they can demand to renegotiate?
FistingBot Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 ...and he's old...and he smells of Metamucil. PTR Guess when Ralph was born? (see screen name) ...some Ralph Wilson trivia. He was born on the same day as Rita Hayworth. (of course, she has been dead for a quarter of a decade)
Ghost of Rob Johnson Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) How long before they can demand to renegotiate? I think there is a rule that states drafted players can't renegotiate until after the players 3rd year. Undrafted after 2. Edited July 29, 2011 by Ghost of Rob Johnson
judman Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Sounds similar to the Denver/Von Miller numbers. Par for the new course.
billsfaninvgs Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 If it's all guaranteed thats good for him.....
Cash Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Yay! Nice job getting him in camp on time. No excuse for a holdout this year.
Rockinon Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I'm real happy about all of our draft picks signing on the dotted line and for less than years past. Doesn't this mean that we have to spend more money elsewhere though? Isn't it odd that the news on top TE free agents is virtually non existent? And why is there no news about signing Poz's replacement other than some interest in Burnett? Have any of you noticed that anyone the Bill's have picked up in FA it came completely out of nowhere? And anyone that was highly publicized like Poz and Clabo the Bills lost in the exchange? Something is brewing behind the scenes and when we hear about it, it's going to be a complete surprise. We are going to get someone. I just hope it isn't going to start a riot when we hear about it. Tensions seem to be at an all time high for this time of year.
C.Biscuit97 Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I love the new rookie wage scale. Makes so much more sense and stops the BS of contracts. Good work and looking forward to Dareus and Williams doing work.
CodeMonkey Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) I time warped your post back one year PTF ... I mean we were in most games last year with a crap defense head coach (Jauron). It's gotta get better this year with Chan Gailey. We have to do better than 7-9. How soon we forget. But that being said, if Merriman can find a way to play in games this season it's hard to argue against the defense at least being better this year. Edited July 29, 2011 by CodeMonkey
Scrappy Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 The all guaranteed part really puts Dareus on really good financial footing, so I can see that his next contract will based on performance / he'll make a fortune. GO Bills!!
Hater Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I think this is great compared to last year 3rd we got a bargain & he is going to be in camp on time And before you can say he is a bust let him play a down
billnutinphoenix Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 It isn't so financially crippling to have high draft choices....I'd like to see how much we give Luck next year!!!
PromoTheRobot Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 It isn't so financially crippling to have high draft choices....I'd like to see how much we give Luck next year!!! I'll bet it will be somewhere around $25M/4yr. PTR
Dorkington Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Awesome, glad to see he'll be with the team from the start. I hope he works out for us, we badly need it.
theesir Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Last year's No. 3 pick got $63 million, with $35 million guaranteed, over five years. If I recall, based on the new CBA, all round one contracts are 4 years with a team option for a fifth year. The fifth year salary for a number 3 pick is the average of the top 5 (or 10) contracts at that players position. Given that is about 8 mill or so (my guess) this has the chance to be 5 years at about 28 million guaranteed. Great money, but still less than last year would have gotten Dareus.
