McD Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 We have more pressing needs... not sure if he's a one year wonder or not.
bills_red Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 He is a 43 DE who yea had 12.5 sacks last year but before that his high was 5 in 2006 add he is 31 no thanks
Ghost of Rob Johnson Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Strange, he flamed out in the 3-4 defense in Houston. Doesn't seem like a good fit.
bills_red Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Strange, he flamed out in the 3-4 defense in Houston. Doesn't seem like a good fit. yep, so we'll give him a 4yr. $25 million contract like we did Kelsay.
Scrappy Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 4 year, $36 Million all paid upfront. The cap problem is covered.
need therapy Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) I doubt the Bills are actually interested in him. According to the post Babin is the one who said they were. I think the Bills are being named by players and agents in order to make it appear they are being sought after by a lot of teams. He wouldn't be a good fit for our D and the Bills have more pressing needs. Edited July 27, 2011 by need therapy
Buffalo Barbarian Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 as a MLB perhaps... he's 260 lbs He's a DE and would go to OLB for us, DE usually don't do well on the inside; see Danny Batten and Moats.
bills1960 Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 Maybe they think he fits our hybrid, 3-4 and 4-3 defense. They might put him a 3-4 OLB and 4-3 DE depending on the opponent.
BEAST MODE BABY! Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Babin was only good when the Titan's DC let him focus on one thing....getting to the quarterback. He was miserable as a 3-4 OLB. Can't cover. Was lost.

Coach Tuesday Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Matt Roth would be a better option at a better price.
bills_red Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Matt Roth would be a better option at a better price. Heck yea! He'd be a better get he can acutally play 34 OLB. I'd be happy with a Roth signing.
dpberr Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Babin was only good when the Titan's DC let him focus on one thing....getting to the quarterback. He was miserable as a 3-4 OLB. Can't cover. Was lost. Jim Washburn used him just like that last year. Buffalo isn't the only team that switches between the 3-4 and 4-3. All he was asked to do was go after the QB. He failed as an OLB in the 3-4 in Houston. I'm trusting Nix and Co. know that already. I'm surprised he isn't in Philadelphia already. For whatever reason, Washburn got more out of him than anybody else has. He'd be an ok pickup. I wouldn't do a four year contract though.
NewEra Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 We have Kelsaay for that role we dont need a clone of him. Cut Kelsey. Sign babin.
DanInUticaTampa Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 This is a smoke screen so we can land Clabo? looks like falcons are going to resign clabo. They are still talking, and it is optimistic for them, so far.
RayFinkle Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 ...another "high motor" defensive lineman. We all know how OBD loves those.
