Ghost of Rob Johnson Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 That 7 mil a year for Poz is definitely too much money. Glad we didn't go there. Isn't it $7.5M now?
CSBill Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Mark Burnett, the creator of 'Survivor' and other reality TV. They're producing a training camp series by following the Bills and their participation in Free Agency. It's gonna be called 'Asleep At the Wheel.' Â Â That's funny! Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â (sarcasm is now turned off. Burnett is an ILB from the Chargers)

ExWNYer Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Good on us. Just saw via Twitter... http://twitter.com/DraytonFlorence  "It's official I'm back buffalo see ya at fisher!!!!" CB Drayton Florence to the Bills -- 3 years for $15 million. - Adam Schefter Good job by the front office...a much needed re-sign at a very reasonable price and length. Welcome back, Drayton!
papazoid Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 does signing one of your own FA count as a "splash" ??
BillsFan74 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 If he goes to the Jets can't blame him they should contend for the divison title this year. Not everybody can wait another 10 years for the Bills to build a winner.
dave mcbride Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 That's odd. I thought that I remembered the Bills drafting 2 corners and a safety in April. One of which they liked so much that they took him at the beginning of the second round. Â Florence had a very good year in 2010. Last season he was so-so from where I sit. Do I want them to keep him? Yes. If for no other reason, to avoid another stomach wrenching scenario of defensive backs musical chairs. Â The thing is, right now Nix should be on the phone with the agents of Kevin Boss, and the agents for the best OTs. They will help us way more than Florence, who may not even start if he goes to the jests. Bill, I really think that you need to be strapped into a chair, Clockwork Orange-like, and forced to watch every defensive series of the Houston Texans last year. That was a team with a talented front seven but horrible CBs, and they gave up huge play after huge play. Their CB play quite literally killed them
billsfan89 Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Good to hear reasonable money for a solid player. This resigning gives our secondary a lot of depth.  CB's- Florence, McGee, McKelvin, and Williams with Corner being the 5th corner. FS- Byrd back up Scott or Williams SS- Wilson back up Searcy  Now if the Bills can address the front 7 a little bit.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 BURN DOWN THE STADIUM, BURN IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Â Oh. Wait. Sweet! Â I feel much more comfortable now in bringing Williams along slowly, I'd definitely keep him at CB though...McGee only has one or two more seasons tops and we'll need the CB depth.
CodeMonkey Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 15/3 is a great deal for the Bills. Well done Buddy. I was hoping for a 3 year deal for Poz as well but you can't win em all. I guess the Jets didn't offer Florence a 42/6 deal huh
Cash Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Nice re-signing from the Bills. Nothing to get excited about, but definitely something to be glad about. Florence is 30, so I'm glad they didn't go longer than a 3 year deal. The money seems pretty reasonable.
tennesseeboy Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 good job re-signing Florence. Now we have to get more active in free agency as we are in need of another linebacker, and OT and could definitely use a tight end to begin the season.
Dorkington Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Cool, but I don't think he was as important as Poz (or the ILB position, in general) is.
947 Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Aaron Williams specializes in slot coverage. Now that Florence is back, he & McKelvin have the outside while Williams gets the slot guys. I'm optimistic, but have a hard time seeing him keep up with Welker...
jr1 Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Kudos to Buddy for taking care of Florence. He's a great vet to have around
