Wayne Cubed Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Not sure if it really creates a "hole", we still have Sheppard, who we drafted, Andra Davis, Danny Batten and also Scott who can play inside on passing downs... Poz really isn't a 3-4 ILB
dayman Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 We are letting our best ILB go on a team that has little at the spot. Davis is better than Poz
Doc Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) He wasn't a fit for the 3-4 and he didn't like playing in it. And it wasn't like he was a game-changer. Kevin Burnett would be a huge upgrade. Edited July 27, 2011 by Doc
bills1960 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Okay, so now we have an old, washed up Andra davis starting next to an unproven third round pick filling the interior defense. This is just a microcosm of this franchise, pathetic.
JimBob2232 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Crap. While not a great player, he was adequate. He always seemed to like buffalo. He will be missed. Jax gain...out loss.
aristocrat Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 6 years? wow...anyone got numbers so far? If he signed that he might in the 6 year 42 mil range.
26CornerBlitz Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Nick Barnett time!!! Hope they make a deal with the Pack to get him.
BillsFan74 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 If he is gone how does TSW feel about Nick Barnett taking his place? Barnett is older and more injury prone. If healthy great. My complaint with Poz leaving it's another high draft choice that is wasted.
Wayne Cubed Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Our starting Inside LB signed with someone else. It creates a hole.... Starting LB who struggled playing the 3-4 last season... And we drafted a possible replacement(Sheppard) and have Batten, who is a ?. Like I previously stated its not really a hole. We would need to add maybe another ILB for depth.
tecmobowlbills Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Why are people happy that he left? Who exactly on this roster is better than him at this point? I for one am pissed that he is gone. I am sick of losing better players on our team. Lost some faith here in the bills management. Not a good start to the season at all.
Rico Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Barnett is older and more injury prone. If healthy great. My complaint with Poz leaving it's another high draft choice that is wasted. Actually, it's two high draft choices wasted, a 2 and a 3. Thanks Marv.
buffaloaggie Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Best news I've heard since Carolina decided to take Cam Newton.
sullim4 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Oh this brings up so many questions.... How much did we offer him? We supposedly tried "hard" to keep him. So he left even though we were throwing money at him? What does it say about our organization that our defensive playcaller didn't want to come back even with a fat contract? What does it say about the Bills that they were throwing money at a guy that didn't want to stay AND, at least in the opinion of the peanut gallery here, is injury prone and wasn't even that good?
BillsFan74 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Actually, it's two high draft choices wasted, a 2 and a 3. Thanks Marv. Oh yea I forgot we moved up to get POZ, passing on Woodley and David Harris. That is why Marv is a hall of famer.
joemac Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I have mixed emotions on this. I think Poz is an okay linebacker, but he never seemed to play up to his potential in Buffalo. How much would you spend on him?
billsfans126 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Poz was a great person to have here , but he wasn't going to turn this defense around. Poz was a 2nd rounder and we counted on him right away, why can't we count on a 3rd rounder from another good football school who's going to be playing behind dareus and kyle williams and a better dline? Bills will replace him with a fa lb to play next to davis/ sheppard. Imo, bills dline will be better then jags dline, so poz might just be spinning his wheels, too bad, he might have been real good behind them, someone elses turn.
dayman Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I have mixed emotions on this. I think Poz is an okay linebacker, but he never seemed to play up to his potential in Buffalo. How much would you spend on him? I would just straight up give someone else a chance. He will never be that good only solid and we might as well see if someone can become a leader or atleast good at that spot. He doesn't have the tools
Wagon Circler Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Between him and Whitner, that's now about 250 tackles we have to replace next season. That would s@ck.
