San Jose Bills Fan Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 With his wife dying, Kraft remained instrumental in "krafting" the new CBA between owners and players. Apparently the big breakthrough on Saturday came when the lawyers left the room. This according to Colts' center and Union Rep Jeff Saturday: “The big shift came when owners and players began to negotiate by ourselves,” Saturday told NFL Network. “You really began to see men’s personalities and what they believe in. Robert Kraft was instrumental in getting this deal done. … Each and every one of us understood what he was going through.” Kraft was emotional when Saturday embraced him and thanked him publicly earlier Monday. Earlier, he was the one speaker to apologize to NFL fans.“First of all I’d like, on behalf of both sides, to apologize to the fans that for the last five, six months we’ve been talking about the business of football and not what goes on on the field,” Kraft said. He also singled out Saturday and Dominique Foxworth as providing leadership throughout the process." The link contains video.

papazoid Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 AS I STATED IN ANOTHER THREAD....HE IS THE BEST OWNER IN FOOTBALL.
White Linen Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I think he should have been home with his wife. Nothing would take me away from mine if she was dying.
JohnC Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Ownership matters. It starts at the top. The Pats are what they are because of their owner. The Bills are what they are because of our owner.
Doc Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I think he should have been home with his wife. Nothing would take me away from mine if she was dying. Yeah, but what about all that money?
DrDawkinstein Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I think he should have been home with his wife. Nothing would take me away from mine if she was dying. Very easy to judge when you arent in his shoes.
Mr. WEO Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Yeah, but what about all that money? Doc, in a nutshell. Ur a sick man.
Golden Wheels Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Very easy to judge when you arent in his shoes. ITA. For all we know Mrs. Kraft told him to go take care of business. None of us know what really went on.
Doc Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Doc, in a nutshell. Ur a sick man. It could have been worse. I could have used your term and said "she was going to 'box' anyway." And now you're a tender heart?
White Linen Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Very easy to judge when you arent in his shoes. Good point. I should have just said "Nothing would take me away from mine if she was dying." and not the first sentence.
DrDawkinstein Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Good point. I should have just said "Nothing would take me away from mine if she was dying." and not the first sentence. ah! very good then. Go Bills!
K-No Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 After she passed it may have been good for him to keep busy. I wish him a quick recovery.
Heels20X6 Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 ITA. For all we know Mrs. Kraft told him to go take care of business. None of us know what really went on. According to Dan Patrick, she told him to go. She loved football as much as he did and she felt that Kraft was the only one who could get both sides to work it out. I wish he was our owner...
ACor58 Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 (edited) I don't like the Patriots at all but he is the best owner in football, hands down. Unlike Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder, he realizes that it isn't all about him. Edited July 26, 2011 by ACor58
