millbank Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 eetering on the brink of potential disaster at the backup quarterback spot, the Buffalo Bills got some relatively good news Monday, as an MRI exam indicated Travis Brown did not tear the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee, as originally feared. Instead, the injury, suffered in Saturday night's preseason loss at Indianapolis, is to the medial collateral ligament. The sprain probably will sideline Brown, the top backup to starter Drew Bledsoe, for four to six weeks. -said to have Shane Matthews at top of list Jags also released Doug Johnson,,,,,,, Travis Brown

I'm still curious to see how TD will handle this, but this is a pleasant surprise.
Fezmid Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Whew, that is great news! However, in a way it's not... How are we going to sign someone for 4-6 weeks? Or do we sign them as the 2nd string for 4-6 weeks, then tell them their 3rd string for another 4-6 weeks, then they're cut? Hmm.... Interesting, we'll have to see how this plays out. CW

nodnarb Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 that is GREAT news...wow. that's awesome...the bills don't have to panick now. They can bring in a guy like matthews or whoever, and keep zolman on the PS for the first 5 weeks of the season as an insurance policy.
