No, you only framed the context as the boorish ex-military guy picking on a sweet innocent woman.

GG, West himself used his military backround as the excuse for his language he used for his disdain for her. What she did was just typical politics...if he can't handle that, he isn't long for this line of work.

I guess I don't necessarily buy into the notion that military service excuses people from things like this. I also don't buy that it necessarily gives them some superior insight into everything else. I think his weak excuse is laughable, and an insult to the military, never mind Wasserman-Schultz. But hey, he's got Dante's vote! You guys are easy to impress...

Magox, I would hazard to guess that you're the most rational regular poster here on PPP. I just wanted to say that because this was a pretty depressing thread to read before you chimed in. Two politicians acting like children, but they both get simultaneously anointed and bashed along party lines. Pretty good snapshot of American politics today.

Oh please get off your high horse. Easy to plop yourself in the middle and not take any real stand. Original post showed the character difference between the two. That's all. West is an achiever. A success and I'm not talking about his political career. Read Wassernames bio and look at her tell me she's of any value. To anyone. That was the point of my post. The type of nobody's trying to bring down actual decent people.

Really? Did you hear what Wasserman-Schultz said? You think West's comments were warranted, from that? Really? You would vote for him as "POTUS NP!" based on this?

The commie comments from the Youtube link or did she make other comments?

That is just it, you (and West apparently) interpre things one way, she another. It is a political disagreement. As far as the proticol thing goes, I will take your word on that...but it seems like everytime these issues come up, right wingers seem to want to condem the left for some infraction, and applaud themselves for doing the same thing...is that the way to raise the bar of political discourse? We are all hypocrits, you, me, West, Schultz-Wasserman...LA Bills, Robs' House, ...lillybob, etc etc (except 3rning, just a twerp), so why does this surprise anyone at this point. The issue here, is Wests' rather inappropriate response to political speak which goes on every day...if West is that thin skinned, you really have to wonder about him, in my opinion.

Don't drag me into this. I may be a lot of things, but at least I'm consistent.

Now that I've seen some of the things West has said about Obama I'm amazed he has the Balls to be offended- for a guy who dishes out some grade a venom he is remarkably thin skinned- if I'm Wasserman I'd needle him every chance I got because I think West can be provoked into saying something really stupid.

Yeah, I remember he criticized Obama for "sneaking in the middle of the night" to visit troops in Afghanastan for a surprise visit. He said something like "he should come during broad daylight like the soldiers, he is commander in chief. What kind of message does that send to the troops?" When reminded that this has been done by almost every wartime president (including Bush), going all the way back to Washington, he said "I didn't say that was right either". He is a pretty stable guy.

There was no war while Washington was President. And if you meant the Revolutionary War, dude was the Commanding General. So seeing him on the battlefield was no more uncommon than seeing Obama on TV

What is there to take a stand about? Which one of the D-bags is being a bigger D-bag?

As for your original post, I just read Wasserman Schultz' wikipedia page that you linked to and I'm not exactly sure what your beef is. She graduated college after studying politics and helping lead the student government, and then began work as a legislator in her state and then federal governments. It also seems as if she's trying to help save the manatees. Granted, I haven't delved very deeply into her career and based on this incident with West she appears to certainly have a bitchy side, but what exactly prompts you to claim that she's "of no value to anyone."? Do you actually know that?

Perhaps more to my point, if Ms. Wassermann's political views more closely resembled your own, would you have bothered to single her out as being (according to you) useless?

As for West, I thank him for his service to our country in the military, and for his continuing service as a congressman. I won't even criticize the somewhat controversial nature of his retirement from the military because it sounds to me like he had the best interests of his men at heart. I respect that. But I'm sorry, when you say stuff like this...

I don't want you as my President. He sounds rather paranoid and xenophobic.

Some Allen West gems

" Obama has demonstrated third world dictator-like arrogance" "I must confess, when I see anyone with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker, I recognize them as a threat to the gene pool" " Obama is a low-level socialist agitator" "Obama's Middle East Policy is the'Beginning of the End' for Israel". " Obama is an intransigence liberal progressive socialist Marxist" " Obama Has “Conscious, Nefarious, And Malicious Intent To Destroy Israel"“I have seen more leadership abilities out of a Buck sergeant!”

and I say good for him because politics is hardball not bean bag but then to get upset because he was mildly called out- typical bully can dish it out but can't take it.

Well, one of them wears an "R" and one of them wears a "D".

And you've got to remember that when you're dealing with sheeple like Dante that their idea of taking a stand is to make sure to always pick the same letter!

That kind of courageous stand is the epitome of independent thought and the inherent strength of true wisdom...

Just commenting on character Simon. Think what you will. Original post just points out the differences in the two as I perceive it. Do I take much stock in what you, Magox, Sage have to say? Not much really. Ego's way to big to ever think that you could be wrong so your never going to see things any other way. Still, your entitled to your point of view. I just get disappointed at this board. Everyone can't comment without getting the knife out and twisting it.

Which of course you have never been known to do. It's really sad how the majority of posters on this board treat you. You are just a poor innocent little victim of the big bad bullies here.:cry:

Well, I apologize for calling you stupid in one of my posts. It was wrong.

I'm still interested in your initial assertion that Wasserman has never been of any value to anyone. That seems to be something you just arbitrarily decided, ironically linking to her wikipedia page which outlines many of the things she's accomplished in her life.
