The ass-hats who made such a big thing over Obamas comment, which was more self-efacing than anything, have no real place to talk here. Hearing Rush Limbaugh's imapassioned blather about Obama's comment was the height of silliness...or making it a matter of national security, that the president wrote the wrong year on a guest book... this is just more of the same...welcome to 2011. Really though the front page of MSN had this article labeled as if Romney made some terribly insensitive joke on the backs of the unemployed. If he wasn't one of the frontrunners on the Republican side they would have ignored it. Instead they wanted to make a big deal out of it.

Yes, you are right...just as Obama's self desparinging remark about "shovels not so ready" was handled last week, by nearly every news outlet? What world are you living in? Nothing is ever "ignored", when it comes to politics. People are offended by anything they don't agree with, or understand. And, anyone, like Obama or Romney, who doesn't realize, by now, humour or nuance are lost on almost everyone, will suffer the blowback from their words. Hannity, Limbaugh,Beck, Newt, and even the normally reasonable Greta Van Susteren were all morally outraged by a quip the president made...and I would suggest, the presidents quip was aimed at himself, because he is aware that the econonmy isn't growing at the pace he had anticipated. Romney, referring to himself as "unemployed", while he sits on his millionaire wallet, is a little offensive. I am sure Mitt said it in a joking fashion, but, why would the reaction to his "joke" be any different? I know...the "lamestream" media...blah, blah, blah... Come on Buf, what's good for the goose... Sarah Palin gets ripped for things Tina Fey said. Then she gets ripped for accurately citing historical records because her detractors were ignorant of said history. Dan Quayle misspelled potato and was labeled the village idiot for a decade. Reagan misspoke and said facts are stupid things, and immediately corrected to facts are stubborn things, and this **** still gets tossed around as supposedly legitimate criticism. I agree with you that these trivialities like saying you went to 57 states are not substantial, but you live by the petty critiques, you die by the petty critiques. And your side is a lot more inclined to get the benefit of the doubt on these. If you don't believe me think real hard about how it would play out if Sarah Palin said you can't go into a convenience store without a slight Indian accent. UConn James
Do we need to look up how many times wealthy campaigning pols from both sides have made this joke?! And if memory serves, Romney used this a lot in '08 primaries. Now they want to make something of it? Lame. Doc
Well, he is unemployed. He never said he was poor. And his audience got a laugh. The Dems took exception because of the unemployment rate, not comment.

That said, the difference between Romney's comment and Obama's comment is Obama's is one in a long line of such out-of-touch nonsense that continually demonstrates that he genuinely believes the economic cluster!@#$k is all just a big non-issue for him. While I initially considered it right-wing chatter, I'm seriously starting to believe that he prefers everyone on the ropes because it helps him force his hand to increase government involvement in as much as possible in every aspect of life. Social justice on steroids. Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm a right-wing partisan hack.

I can tell by your posts you are capable of being more than a partisan hack. As to the latter, I have never deluded myself. I simply think it sucks you are the type who is Rah rah sis boom bah for anything conservative Republican and down on anything liberal Democrat. Thanks for turning it all into a big football game. If you even remotely paid attention to many of my posts, you'd find that is simply not the case. Start with my comments on Palin and McCain and Lee, for starters, and then come back and tell me what a cheerleader I am. The problem is you're confused. When I write that Barack Obama is one of the most out-of-touch, useless, spineless, idiotic leaders I've ever seen, that's not cheering for Republicans. It's speaking the truth. He's useless. You know it. I know it. It has nothing to do with being Conservative because even the progressives are starting to say the same thing. Just read up on the fun they had at Netroots Nation this past week. Every time Obama opens his yap, he embarrasses everyone. Did you catch his comments this week about how ATMs and airport kiosks are playing in role in the unemployment numbers? Real genius there. Words of a man who wouldn't last 20 minutes in a private sector job. Why this world thought that HE'd be a good POTUS is beyond me.

Because there was no such thing as kiosks or ATMs before the **** hit the fan in 2008. Evil machinery... I doubt it ever liked us! I'm amazed that he didn't intimate soda vending machines that siphon American soda-jerk jobs. (But illegal immigrants? Hey, let's give 'em food stamps, SSDI, free education and then in-state tuition!) Jesus flipping Christ, this guy is grasping at vegetation on his way down the cliff.
