I gave up bikes long ago… but I can understand how a guy who can barely walk would never want to quit riding. I remember Jerry Kramer mentioning Howard Mudd in his 1967 classic on the Lombardi Packers, "Instant Replay." If I recall, Mudd beat out Kramer as the Pro Bowl starter that year at right guard. Both were great players but neither is in the Hall of Fame. I didn't know that Mudd coached with Bob McKittrick, the late, legendary 49er O-line coach and one of the gurus of the West Coast Offense.
