Later he was taken by the Devil Rays in the Expansion draft. Saunders was a promising finesse pitcher who had a sharp curve ball. Yes, he had potential, On May 26, 1999. On that day, the lefty broke his left ulna while throwing a pitch. However, that wasn’t the worst part. After months of rehab, Saunders broke his arm at the exact same place during a rehab game. I remember seeing the footage on SportsCenter. I could clearly see his arm dangling around the point of the break. I was there for the second break, it sounded like a firecracker when it broke.
BillsFanNC Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Remember Dave Dravecky? Broke his arm while pitching and eventually had it amputated.
Alaska Darin Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Remember Dave Dravecky? Broke his arm while pitching and eventually had it amputated. 164521 Because he had cancer.
USMCBillsFan Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 It's not the end of the world if he doesn't become a Yankee. I think Vasquez has a lot to off the Yankees after getting the first year jitters out. And he's about 13 years younger.
BillsFanNC Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Because he had cancer. 164530 Correct.
