symbiant Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 So with the talk of camp fitz for the offense, can the defense do anything together in an organized fashion? If not, maybe this is also why we went so heavy on defense this year with the pending lockout.
DrDawkinstein Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 What would the defense do if they got together? Kind of tough without an offense in front of you. At least the QB/WRs can practice their routes and timing. It would be cool to see the D get together, I agree. But I dont think they have much to do. I havent heard of any other team's D getting together, at least on their own. I thought I heard that some DBs were supposed to show up at Fitz Camp, but I dont think that happened.

The Problem being that we don't have any DBs. McGee is icing his knee, Florence is a FA trying to coach UFL, Youbouty is a FA, McKelvin is busy boning up on his Baby Einstein videos. Reggie Corner and Byrd might be able to stop. That be cool if Aaron Williams and Reggie Corner showed up. Edited May 10, 2011 by Why So Serious?

I thought the same thing when I heard the DBs might show up... "Who?"
Mr. WEO Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Maybe Troup can bring his workout wheel for them to push around..

Mr. ChumChums Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Keep in mind that due to the lockout, none of these guys are insured if any of them get injured.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Keep in mind that due to the lockout, none of these guys are insured if any of them get injured. True, although some of the players are purchasing injury insurance.
BuffaloBill Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Keep in mind that due to the lockout, none of these guys are insured if any of them get injured. This makes the ideas of informal team workouts a dilemma. Yes guys can purchase insurance but do you want a guy hurt doing something that ultimately may not improve the team? I guess you have to look at the situation as a positive but if i am a guy without a contract I would think long and hard about what I was doing and what risks i would take.
jumbalaya Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Now that we may have a defensive line in front of them, the linebackers could practice running forward.
NoSaint Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 There are a lot of drills, as well as just general working out together or watching film. It can and is being done by players, just a matter of us not knowing what ours are doing.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Now that we may have a defensive line in front of them, the linebackers could practice running forward. Yes, but after their treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder.
Mr. ChumChums Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 True, although some of the players are purchasing injury insurance. Ahh, true, I never considered that. I didn't realize that some players actually have been buying it on their own.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Here is a crazy idea, why not get the whole team together and practice against each other. Just keep it light to avoid injuries.
