NewEra Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 I might possibly consider giving up a 7th round pick in 2045 for Palmer.
drinkTHEkoolaid Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 it just reeks of bledsoe 2.0 but i would be willing to give up a 4th rd pick and thats about as high as i would roll the dice on.
apuszczalowski Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 well we can't do anything that would hurt the Bills chances to stay mediocre by not wanting to hurt Fitzpatricks feelings and bring in someone who might be able to improve the position and beat him out If Palmer wants out as seriously as he says, he will go somewhere that will give him the chance to start, or atleast compete for the chance to start, or he may just retire. If he is healthy and comes at a fair price, I would love to see them get him and give him a chance to beat out Fitzpatrick at the starting job. If this hurts Fitz's feelings, then I say let him go, I want guys here that are good and can play, not guys who will get their feelings hurt cause of some competition. He goes into camp as the #1 guy to beat, he shouldn't just be handed the job and have the team pass on getting better, just because he lead the team to the #3 overall pick in the draft
Buftex Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 He IS the starter in Cincy. Why would he be willing to retire from a starting job to be a backup with another team? This post makes no sense at all. To be on winner?
Lockport Bills Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Maybe we can pull Jake Plummer out of retirement instead
im4bflo Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 Thanks for the takes, just wondering How Bad he wants out of Cincy, maybe we could get him cheap, also maybe he doesn't want to move his family. And because he wouldn't want to go from a loser to a loser, I'm thinking we're on the way up, aren't we? And he knows, it only takes one injury, and he's the starter, just wondering what you all thought, thanks again!
AReed Deep For 7 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 hahahahahahaaaaaaaa better chance getting steve mcnair to play here next season Oh boy lol

I don't think anybody's feelings would be hurt, but I do think they would push each other for the starting job. Palmer has put up some serious numbers for the Bengals but that is a team that just hasn't been able to put all the pieces together. I wouldn't mind him coming to Buffalo at all. Maybe we'll get lucky and they just let him retire without demanding a compensatory pick.
im4bflo Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Playing for Buffalo is better than retiring, like he said he would if they don't trade him!
Mickey Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Can we possibly get Palmer from Cincy? He wants out, we need a veteran QB, not a far move, he's played in bad weather, which I think is important to be a Bills QB. I'd like to see him in RED,WHITE&BLUE! PALMER and FITZ would be a great. Sorry man but that is about as likely as signing OJ to be a third down specialist.
Billshank Redemption Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 yea i mean the only way we could bring a weaker arm in would be to bring in my sister. If youve watched him the past 2 years you would know that Levi Brown is more capable than this guy... pass.

The Raiders should go after Palmer. They're on the rise, coming off a 8-8 record. He's also from Fresno, California.
thewildrabbit Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Playing for Buffalo is better than retiring, like he said he would if they don't trade him! What you need to realize is that the Bengals owner is more stubborn and hardheaded then RW ever was, he would rather let Palmer retire then trade him away. This owner in no way will ever be forced into doing anything by a player, he didn't let Chad Johnson aka Chad Ochocincho go either. Johnson who demanded a trade a few years ago was denied and all he did was whine about it. The Bengals were even offered a first round draft pick for the guy and turned it down. Right now all the Bengals have at QB is Jordan Palmer, Carson's younger brother, who has very little game experience. That rookie QB Andy Dalton might turn out to be a really good NFL QB but i highly doubt he starts simply because the HC Marvin Lewis sat Carson Palmer his first year when he was first drafted as a rookie. Bottom line is Paul Brown will either let Palmer retire or return as a Bengal, no way they trade him to any team. Buffalo doesn't want Palmer or his 10 million dollar salary, they want someone who has game exp and who will come cheap

Alphadawg7 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 So, you think Carson Palmer, who is demanding out of Cincinnati, would agree to settle for going from one losing franchise to another losing franchise, to back-up the guy who used to back him up with his former losing franchise? I love Buffalo, I love the Bills, but I don't think Carson Palmer has the same feeling for Buffalo. He has a "short list" of teams he will accept a trade to...if a deal is not worked out with one of those teams, he will retire...he says...don't waste too much time pining for this to happen. ^^^ THIS ^^^
ny33 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Palmer wouldn't play for Buffalo. He strikes me as a guy who only cares about the chance to win, and even if Buffalo is improved, he won't have a chance to seriously contend. Teams I can see him accepting a trade to, in order: Cardinals: They had, possibly, the worst QBs in the league last year. Put Palmer in this situation and they become a vastly improved team; it wasn't so long ago that they went to the Super Bowl. Vikings: Not a bad team, unless age catches up to them. I can see Palmer wanting to play there, and they'd probably pull the trigger. Browns: They're probably only a consideration because Cincinnati and Cleveland are relatively close by. Raiders: Oakland isn't terrible, although I think Jason Campbell is a solid player. It's unclear how Palmer would feel about playing for Al Davis, though. Redskins: Less likely: owner has a bed rep, and the time would need to acquire someone like Santonio Holmes in free agency, plus a running back. If they make those moves, Washington has a shot. Miami: They reportedly want to stick with Henne, but they're not a terrible team and certainly have the cash for free agent splashes. San Francisco: They probably want to try out Alex Smith and Kaepernick, but as someone stated, he's from northern California. Another option: there's always a decent probability of an elite QB going down early in the season, and without the organized workouts, players could be particularly suspect to injury at the beginning of this season. The trade deadline may even be lifted (who knows?) and if, say, Brady's knee gives out again from a hard hit like Pollard's, that team would pick up Palmer in a second.
