The only "gotcha" is that you can't delete any mail; they reserve the right to keep every mail you send and receive. Could be a privacy concern. Overall, pretty cool though. CW
John Adams Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis? You can delete messages. Just check them and hit the drop down menu- select "move to trash" and voila. Your messages are trashed. To empty the trash, go into the trash, check the messages, and click the "delete forever" button.

I'll see if I can dig up the info. EDIT: Here's a good article: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/04/03/go...s_evil_privacy/ Specifically: Google's Gmail privacy policy points out that your email will be retained even after you close your account - "The contents of your Gmail account also are stored and maintained on Google servers in order to provide the service. Indeed, residual copies of email may remain on our systems, even after you have deleted them from your mailbox or after the termination of your account."
