truth on hold
Now obama's at ground zero today? He's really cashing in big time on this. Might as well have labeled his Sunday night press conference "2012 election campaign kick off". He's not needed here, seriously go home.

Im more convinced now than ever based on the interesting development that the crashed helicopter was a modified HH-60 varient was a heavily modified MH-60 stealth helicopter which there are only a handful in the entire US inventory and until now the public didn't know existed. The operation planners must have had real concerns that pakistan would have scrambled their fighters to intercept a foreign helicopter force in their airspace, so the US alternative to not advising pakistan prior to the raid was to use secrect stealth MH-60's to enter through their radar undetected. Say whatever the gvt. wants but they didnt want pakistan to know we were there. We could have more easily use CV-22 ospreys (but they are not stealth). Which just makes this whole operation much more interesting

truth on hold
but remember we don't want to brag like this is a trophy and spike the football...or we might iflame would be terrorists you know it's funny. I live in NYC and have been listening to local radio stations interview families of victims. One man said there's nothing that will bring his son back, a woman said she will tell Obama about concerns over the memorial: another one said this is nice but will only open old wounds. Not a one said they welcome his visit. I'm sure when they meet him they'll be thankful and overcome with emotion etc. Got nothing but love and sympathy for those people and they deserve the best. But oth Obama can't spin this in response to calls for his visit, cuz it sure as heck wasn't that. IMO the appropriate thing for him to do was make a nice visit and deliver one of his good speeches at the site on 9/11's 10th anniversary in september. Rather than exploit it for political gain now. This was going on before Osama was killed you still have not answered the question. how ironic can it get: sadaam did not harbor al qadae and had no nukes, yet we invade and topple him based on the assumption that he was harboring al qadae and did have nukes. now, an alleged ally, pakistan, is found to have harbored the most wanted terrorist in the history of the world for YEARS and there are no calls for war against that government

Really...the ISI, the armed forces, and the civil government not only take completely different actions without consulting each other but work towards completely different policies - it's entirely possible, even likely, that a small part of the government knew Obama Osama [dammit!] was there and kept it from everybody else. Probably the ISI, they've done it before. So...what, you want to invade Pakistan because a bunch of mid-level guys in the ISI are a bunch of !@#$-ups? You said: and why aren't the war mongerers demanding a fight with pakistan for harboring the most wanted terrorist in the history of the world?? I responded by pointing out that we are and have been launching attacks against Pakistan how ironic can it get: sadaam did not harbor al qadae and had no nukes, yet we invade and topple him based on the assumption that he was harboring al qadae and did have nukes. now, an alleged ally, pakistan, is found to have harbored the most wanted terrorist in the history of the world for YEARS and there are no calls for war against that government If that's the question you were asking the first time, why didn't you just ask it the first time? Not that it really matters since it would be the same answer. We are and have been launching attacks against Pakistan, we just haven't been advertising it. Chef Jim
Awwww, dammit. You have no idea how often I catch myself doing that. This ONE time I didn't... The local radio talk show I listen to on the drive in did a montage of news reporters who did that. One in DC said: "President Obama is about to speak and tell the nation that President Obama is dead." Not only did the idiot say Obama instead of Osama but called him President Obama. That's what happens when you call news people in on a Sunday afternoon after they've spent the whole day by the pool drinking gin and tonics. whateverdude
This is kind of a surprise, the Pakistanis were aiding the US surveillance of the Osama compound over the last 4 years or so. What they are pissed about is that from the beginning they insisted that if there was to be a raid to go in and get Osama that it be done by the Paki military.
