I'm not saying it does, and its the knock on him. His offense wasnt complex. But he also played JuCo and had a year at Florida. NFL GMs have those tapes and can ask him about that.

But basing it on a Gruden interview where he couldnt name a play.......well he didnt call plays and they didnt have names they had numbers.

Again, there are no reports suggesting he lacks football IQ. Dont get me wrong not saying he's our guy but cmon

He never played at Florida and I don't want to hear about his tenure at Brinn or whatever JUCO school he went to.

Mallett, Locker, Gabbert all went through their X's and O's with Gruden or SOMETHING about football. Any reason why Gruden never went over football talk with Newton? From what I saw from the video, he didn't talk football at all. I'd want a QB that doesn't shut up about the game. Even Mallett who sounded like a complete retard lit up and talked X's and O's with Gruden which was cool in my book. Locker and Mallett actually talked through their thought process and knowledge of the game. Newton just talked about shooting "guns" and what he thinks of how people perceive him.

Everything about him just wreaks of bs.

Just so everyone is aware, the "clip" you watched is 3 MINUTES taken from a 30 MINUTE show.

Gruden has already sat down with QBs who could rattle off verbiage. Here is Gruden's own final take, even AFTER Cam couldnt call an Auburn play...

“I think Cam Newton’s the best player in the country,” proclaimed Gruden after the dust had settled. “I agree with the Heisman Trophy people that gave him the award. He’s got everything I’m looking for.”

But I'll trust your opinion over Jon Gruden's

Lets assume the bolded is true, is someone not named al davis going to pay the kid that money? nah. There is no way that offense was that simple. The kid might not be the next big thing but we are oversimplifying things here.

And sure there are plenty of legitimate concerns. But if he was really that football stupid, dont you think his stock would be dropping? He has interviewed with a number of teams, i havent seen one report saying he doesnt know his stuff. That carries more weight than a TV special.

As is so often repeated here and everywhere, teams are not going to tip their cap as what they are thinking pertaining to ANY prospect. That being said, do you really think the Panthers would come out and say: "this guy is not for us, he is too dumb"? NO. Of course not! Neither would any other team picking in the top 5-10 picks. They want to use it as bait. They are always looking to gain an advantage. If you can get another team to believe that you really might pull the trigger on a kid that has some ??? then you are at an advantage because now you are creating a crisis for other teams and when there is a crisis people will do some interesting things.

All I am saying is that there are some serious concerns based on the little information that we as fans get. None of us sat down and talked football with Gruden or Newton, so we dont know what we dont know. We can only judge off of what is shown to us. That is certainly the media's choice. Maybe Newton really can handle the "verbage" of an NFL playbook, but from the snippet that I saw, I am pretty certain that it would be a long and winding road to get there. That scares me. I don't like that. I dont want that.

I am with Hindsight and every other person on here who DOES NOT want Cam Newton in Buffalo. I'll be the first to admit that after watching him all season at Auburn I was all about getting Cam Newton in B-lo, but during the predraft process, with everything, positive and negative that have come out surrounding Cam, I have completely changed my mind. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole. He is gonna steal a Christmas that we've been waiting 11 years for....

So, you loved what you saw on the field and wanted to see him in a bills uniform, but have changed your mind because of what exactly? He said he wanted to be an icon and he sat down with gruden and said some more things you dont like. Meanwhile, the guy who interviewed him, a knowledgeable QB guru, said he's the best player in the draft. Not just qb, but player. Now you don't wouldnt touch him with a 10 foot pole. I'm not sold on him, but I don't understand how someone could love him, then hate him based on some things that he said. I can understand if he slipped on your board some, but to go from love to hate after hearing some things he said confuses me. obviously you feel this way, but it's hard for me to understand how you can shift so much with mere words being said.

So of the 30 minutes they talked, that's the best of their conversation? that makes it even MORE pathetic. of the 30 minutes, i would think they wouldve edited in the best and most interesting 3 minutes of the 30 minute conversation. and if that's it. Then that makes it worse.

You should watch the entire 30 minutes.

I'd prefer to see a video of someone who actually knows what he's talking about.

I'd rather read a post of someone who knows what they're talking about, but I'll settle for laughing at yours.

No, it's a 30 minute show. I dont know how long they actually spent together. Sounds like the whole day.

Thats just the "most controversial" clip that ESPn keeps showing so people will watch the 30 minute show.

But keep buying into the hater-hype...

Not my fault if you thought that was an "intelligent" conversation. :flirt:

No, he's just bored and jealous like the rest of them. That's what makes a hater truly a hater.

Yes. And I'm jealous of Jamarcus Russell too.

Well thats obvious, but if he's gonna hate that hard either A) he's getting paid or B) he has a secret man crush on Newton cuz this level of hate is insane...

Secrets out.

Not my fault that I'm always right. You guys are just hatin on me. How much do you guys get paid to hate on me? :flirt:
