BuffaloBill Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Interesting development ... I wonder if any of the owners go rogue and look to start signing free agents. I doubt it right now but if this drags out who knows.

LABills08 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Hahaha. Imagine if FA starts within a few days of the draft? Talk about shooting from the hip come Thursday....
CosmicBills Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 (edited) While this move was expect (by most sane people on this board) and is certainly a step in the right direction (read:saving the upcoming season), nothing will get done until after the appeal in St.Louis. Still, for anyone who is a football fan this is a much better decision than had she ruled for the owners. That would have signaled a long drawn out process where all the power shifted to the owners and they would sit on things until players got desperate -- in other words, started missing game checks. This should speed up the process regardless of the final outcome. Thats all fans can hope for now. Edited April 25, 2011 by tgreg99

Giving more power to the players means higher salaries, more prices for everything, and it will be harder to keep the team in Buffalo/not move more game across the border. Just because more games might be played, it doesn't mean the fans win, when the long-term viability of the Bills/league is at stake.

aristocrat Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Not as fast, though. well, the players got the best deal they will ever get with the last cba and i don't see them getting the percentage they got last time. so if the owners get more do you think they will lower the prices because they got a better deal? nope
McBeane Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 suck it, ralph I'd love to hear why you said that. P.S. - Tebow was drafted last year by the Broncos

It may be good for the fans in the short term, but it is not good for the long term health of the game. Hopefully, a stay on the injuction will be issued until an appeal is filed. The owners have the upper hand at the next level. The best hope for the league is for the appeal to be upheld and the lockout to be upheld. This may be the only way to force the players back to the negotiating table. They started it by decertifying and walking away from the table. they need to be smacked back in line and forced back to the table. Edited April 26, 2011 by Ramius
Malazan Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 This is hardly a win for the fans. The players have shown themselves to be more divorced from reality than the owners. Unfortunately, this will probably cause things to go nuclear because the owners have financially backed themselves into a corner.
RealityCheck Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Not as fast, though. Evidence to that affect?
