ExiledInIllinois Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Neither is country 162485 ... Huh? How do you define country? Depending how you define it, isn't it the root of all things that are considered "American music.?" Don't get me wrong, I don't necessarily like rap or country (there is some that actually appeals to me)... But, I respect it for the genre that it is.
pdh1 Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 was that a anti-rap post? because it damn sure looks like it. if you were gonna go through the trouble to post all those lyrics you shoulda at least put up some quality. ludacris? come on 163437 I thought he was popular....ain't he?
ExiledInIllinois Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Didn't Debbie Harry of "Blondie" not rap in the song Rapture? That had to be what almost 25 years ago?... I think you can trace the origins even further back? ??
Guest Guest Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Can you please tell me the other forms of music were the artists rip off and sample others people's work and call it there own? Also, let me know the other musical genres were the artist shoot and kill each, and also stab each other at awards show? Oh no! It's a STEREOTYPE! 163365 you guys are logically defeating yourselves we are not debating whether or not YOU like rap no one cares if you do or dont its obvious you dont and its obvious that you made that rash decision and decided never to look to far into it again. good for you, your decision, your prejudice. you have every right to it all. but, after keeping yourself ignorant and in the dark and uniformed, you cant expect to start spouting your opinion as gospel and have anyone agree with you. keep your mouth shut when youre out of your element.
Guest Tupac's Mom Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 and Tim in AK, if those are the 3 best albums you own, hit me up for some good hip hop

Chilly Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 If you don't like rap, fine. But don't B word about it. Why do I and others like rap? Its great party and adrenaline music. Great bass lines work well in clubs and bars, not to mention at apartments and homes with the right systems as well.
Alaska Darin Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 quality ludacris 163437 Ladies and gentlemen, proof that oxymorons do in fact exist.

Madvillian or anything Doom touches the (semi)new Aesop Rock - Bazooka Tooth (that ones kinda old now that i think about it)(but with Def Jux you cant go wrong) just got the new Talib Kweli, its ok, i always expect absolute greatness from him and Mos Def so i basically set them up to fail me MC Solaar just got into the newer Cee-lo Green, pretty decent for being a "commercial" album but ive been heard pressed to be able to consistently/constantly find new good stuff my old stand bys are anything by Kool Keith(seen him 3 times now), Craig Mack, most of Wu's solo stuff (the newest Ghostface is amazing), Erik B and Rakim, or just Rakim, i like Pharcyde/Jurassic 5/Prince Paul's Solo stuff but in light of recent tragedies i havent stopped listening to ODB, i saw him live twice and im really glad i did, the shows were.... experiences to say the least and on an everyday basis i make it through a whole Biggie album, he's my all-time greatest MC of the universe, Pac was up there but for different reasons i listen to such a large quantity of music that this question always blanks me, if i think of anything else ill post
