JStranger76 Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Dalton's arm is nowhere good enough to play in Buffalo. Of the original list Ponder or Rudolph. TE is not a luxury pick when it comes to the Buffalo Bills.....you can't be running 5 wides very much in December.
Orton's Arm Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 If the Bills go defense at #3 and want a QB at #34 the Patriots* phone will be ringing off the hook for the #33 pick. If Buddy is correct and there is a run on QBs in the first round there may be a very short supply of 2nd round value QB's available and everyone will be trying to jump our pick. This scenario scares me for 2 reasons; first it means Pats* get great value for this pick and second if I am thinking this so are the Bills so they either jump back into round one which is costly or they grab a QB at #3 and I am not sure either QB is worth #3. You are correct to be scared about this. I listened to a radio show the other week, which featured Vic Carucci as a guest. He said several things: 1) The Bills would like to draft Newton. However, he will almost certainly be taken first overall by Carolina. 2) If the Bills can't draft Newton, they will take Von Miller instead. 3) There will be a run on QBs in the mid- to late-first round. Several quarterbacks in the Ponder category--specifically including Ponder himself--will not make it to the second round. Don't take any of the three above statements as guarantees--they are merely Vic's sense of the direction the draft is likely to head. Of course, that sense is based on his conversations with NFL people.
