judman Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Apparently after a late night on the town: per PFT
Bangarang Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 He had too many Capri Suns the night before and woke up in the morning with a tummy ache.
NewEra Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Geez. Just as I started to warm up to him a bit. I liked the gruden piece on him. You'd think that he would wake up and smell the coffee. Maybe he thought talking with Carolina is a waste of time, due too all the newton going 1st talk. I don't think Carolina has a 2nd Rd pick, so the chances of him landing there a nil. Either way, dumb move kid
voodoo poonani Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Apparently after a late night on the town: per PFT I wouldn't believe much of anything relating to the draft this next week. Some team could be putting out BS so he'd fall to them.
DrDawkinstein Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Stupid move if true, for sure. But I assume he figured he wasnt going #1 overall, but he'll be gone by Round 3, so why bother? Still stupid.

NickelCity Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 This guy just moved up my draft board. Heyyooo
KOKBILLS Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) I wouldn't believe much of anything relating to the draft this next week. Some team could be putting out BS so he'd fall to them. Honestly I've been getting that feeling about Mallett since before his Jr. Year...And I'm not big on conspiracy theories or anything like that...What I do know about Mallett is, based on pure ability and just raw potential, he is a sure fire Top 15 Pick in any NFL Draft...It seems to me like some Teams are doing everything they can to push him into the 2nd Round...I still don't think it's going to work but we'll see soon enough... Also interesting that I live in Charlotte, listen to Sports Talk here religiously, and did not here anything about this till today...You think someone would have called in a Ryan Mallett out-on-the-town-partying-sighting...But who knows... BuffaloBaumer Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 How stupid do you really have to be...I mean HOW STUPID?
Frostbelt City Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Drinking or not... this is the biggest interview of his life. PASS!

I know from experience there are plenty of Charlotte Restaurants that can make you sick as a dog... Just saying...

So the Panthers want him to fall to the 2nd where they don't even have a pick so they got him drunk on a job interview? Did they also adjust the bolts in his neck so he would appear so slow?
2003Contenders Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Remember when Ryan Leaf blew off the Colts when it became clear that they were targeting Manning?
aristocrat Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 matt jones, ryan mallet, jason peters was in trouble quite a bit but none since coming into the nfl...whats with this arkansas program?
KOKBILLS Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 So the Panthers want him to fall to the 2nd where they don't even have a pick so they got him drunk on a job interview? Did they also adjust the bolts in his neck so he would appear so slow? Whatever dude...Did you even read the update? Your anti-Mallett campaign and million slow jokes are duly noted...I never said it was the Panthers Organization necessarily either...Nor did I say it was anything other than the feeling I get...But please continue to bash the Kid for no apparent reason other than he's the latest in the line of guys you incessantly mock around here... And I'm guessing even as slow as he is he could beat you in a foot race...
Brandon Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 More details are trickling out: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/20/agent-mallett-really-sick-in-bed-by-10-before-canceled-panthers-visit/ If he really did make the attempt and met with the Panthers OC the next day, then it would tell me all I need to know. He probably was genuinely sick. It happens.
H2o Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Maybe this is his way of saying, "I don't want to play for the Panthers."
Brandon Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 It seems that the Panthers' version of the incident align with those of Mallett and his agent. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/20/agents-panthers-respond-to-mallett-report/?loc=interstitialskip
