Peace
I am a little late to this party. But here's this huge story: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/04/11/jcrew-ad-showing-boy-pink-nail-polish-sparks-debate-gender-identity/ A J.Crew ad that shows a top designer painting her young son’s toenails neon pink has some parents and doctors seeing red. “This is a dramatic example of the way that our culture is being encouraged to abandon all trappings of gender identity,” psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow wrote in a FoxNews.com Health column about the ad. Media Research Center’s Erin Brown agreed, calling the ad “blatant propaganda celebrating transgendered children.” “Not only is Beckett likely to change his favorite color as early as tomorrow, Jenna's indulgence (or encouragement) could make life hard for the boy in the future,” Brown wrote in an opinion piece Friday. "J.CREW, known for its tasteful and modest clothing, apparently does not mind exploiting Beckett behind the facade of liberal, transgendered identity politics.” and the daily show's 100% right take: http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/wed-april-13-2011-tracy-morgan

Chef Jim
I work with a guy whose son, when he was very young, wanted a pink shirt. My friend said "NO PINK!!" Kid is now 10 or 11 and is a monster on his pop warner football team.

ieatcrayonz
You know when that kid won't care what color his toenails are? When his head is rolling down a flight of stairs, that's when.

IDBillzFan
MAybe, but sad that the stupid media took the bait. These ads are created specifically because the media is a willing and predictable accomplice. They'll bite all day, every day, especially when they need a filler. Government shutdown averted? Nothing new in Libya? Still waiting for the Japanese nuclear meltdown? Hey, everyone, look at the little boy getting a pink pedi!!! So easy, its success should be embarrassing.
