Draft Insiders via Rotoworld, is stating that the Bills had a great meeting with Bowers and that our team doctor medically cleared him. His knee scares me, as does his one year wonder status, but if the knee weren't an issue would he be high on all you guys' lists? I didn't really see him play. Was he that good? Would he be a good pick?

he had terrific stats but if you analyzed his play youd realize that his DT's were providing the pressure and giving bowers the easy play. obviously hes talented but like you said his knee and his one year wonder status scare the hell out of me

I'm never sure what they mean when they say a knee is medically cleared- McGahee knee was finally healed but he was a 4.6 typed guy after it healed while before the injury he was like a 4.3 type guy- Bower for me he had to run under 4.75 to get consideration for top 5 (he was hyped as a guy who runs 4.6-4.7) but Bower ran a 4.9 for his pro day now if he runs again before the draft and goes in the low 4.8s well then I could at least feel he is regaining his explosiveness, Fairley's shoulder injury could probably hold him down a little bit because he hasn't benched at all- it's just another layer of risk, you get Bower at 20 and he comes back a 100% and you're a genius- you take him at 12 he never regains his explosiveness and you're a moron.

still would prefer jordan or miller, by a lot. I wanted get pissed if they drafted a QB at 3, but I might say a prayer or two and hope that it is the right move. But I think jordan and miller can each really bring a lot to the team, and fairly quickly.

Made you say Fairley.

Sneaky Astrobot. Hey Bot, you have been citing trade down scenarios for awhile. I just can't see Buddy pulling the trigger on trading down. What are you seeing that many of us are not seeing?

I'm not a fan of his play. Hes probably the only defensive player on our radar (if he is on our radar) that I'd be upset if we drafted. I'd take him in the 2nd, but that's not gonna happen.

A more explosive Cam Jordan. But that was before the surgery.

I'm not even so sure he was more explosive even before the surgery. That's one of the things I've been criticizing Bowers about. He doesn't have that elite explosiveness coming off the line that you would like to see.

I'm not astro but, it's pretty obvious why we would want to trade down, especially in the top 10. The price would probably be an additional 2nd round pick in the top 10. Looks like there could be 1st round value in this at that point in the draft. Adding 3 1st round talents as opposed to 2 would help this team immensely IMO. Pretty simple explanation.

I get all that but that wasn't my question. I asked Astrobot why he thinks Buddy is looking at a trade down when his comments and track record say otherwise.

this report is bogus

history shows that the Bills medical staff would have placed him on IR with that, or any other, injury

Oh yeah (and I don't hate Cam Jordan)..it isn't even his first step, which is inconsistent. Its steps 2,3,4 and 5. You could see how quick he could get to a QB or a RB after he disengages. You can see a number of his sacks where the QB didn't even begin to scramble. It looked like the OT would have him decently, and the next thing you know, he's on top of the QB.

That's the part that reminded me of Bruce, that 5-10 yard closing speed from the line, where he switches to 2nd gear.
