I heard an interview of Nix on an Alabama radio station and he was asked if it was easier to have the #3 pick or the #1 pick. His reply was that there is more pressure with the #1 pick, but right now I wish I had it because I would know everyone would be there.

It's right at the beginning.

Not saying I know, because I don't...But my guess has been that the Bills have coveted Gabbert all along...NFL Networks top info guys (Lombardi, Casserly, etc...) have been saying for weeks now that the vast majority of Teams looking at 1st Round QB's prefer Gabbert over Newton...And I think The Bills are in that vast majority...

It seems as if The Panthers are in the minority preferring Newton over Gabbert...And that may very well work in the Bills favor big time...I can say that being down here in Charlotte everyone seems to think Newton is the Pick at #1 overall...And the name I hear most after Newton is Peterson...Nix may be sweating a bit knowing they have Gabbert rated well ahead of Newton and hoping the Panthers don't feel the same...I just have a feeling The Bills don't want to be sitting there at #3 with Gabbert and Darius gone...That's why Buddy would rather be at #1...It takes the worst case scenario (still not a bad place to be though) out of play...That's just my guess... B-)

Nix wishes he had the #1 pick this year Who does he think will be gone?

This is simple. Cam Newton. All signs are pointing to the Panthers taking him at #1. My gut feeling is Nix wants this guy in a bad way, and so does Gailey, he is the type of QB that he has had success with in the past.

I think you're looking way too deep into this, and therefore drawing a baseless conclusion.

-Reporter: "Hey Buddy...would you rather have the #3 overall pick this year, or the #1 overall pick?"

-Buddy: "Well stupid...I'd obviously rather have the #1 pick in the draft because I could select any player I wanted. That is the dumbest question I have ever heard."

Myself personally, I don't think you will find a GM out there that could possibly have more of an insight on the person and player of Auburns biggest Tiger, Cameron Newton. Buddy Nix's comment "Cam has been a good leader everywhere he's been" should squash any doubts of Newtons leadership abilities. Nix also squashed the rest of the negative comments made by the most recent outlandish attack on Newtons character.

At 6' 6" 248 Lbs, Newton is a mountain of a man at the QB position. Blessed with the speed and rushing skills of OJ Simpson, Cam rushed for 1,473 yards and scored over 20 TD's on the ground, 30 passing TD's and even had a spectacular highlight reel receiving TD in tight coverage. Newtons 603 yards rushing over a three game span were the most for an Auburn player in a three game stretch since RB Bo Jackson in 1985. Newton also broke Jim Sidles SEC rushing record for a Quarterback, Newton is the 1st QB in SEC History to throw for 2,000 and rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Cam Newton also finished the season with a sparkling 182 QB rating and led the Nation with over 10 yards per pass play average. (1st down per pass play average.)

Undefeated , Heisman, National Champ, I'm not sure anyone in the history of College Football has ever accomplished as much in one season as Cam Newton. The kid throws the team on his shoulders, marches to the Championship everywhere he goes, and then wins it.

Buddy Nix knows what he's got with Newton (hell on wheels) and Nix will draft Cam If he's available at number #3 in my opinion.

No way Nix passes on Cam Newton, no way...

you convinced me

I'll tell you what it means... it means Buddy covets newton so bad and the thought of Carolina taking him is making him wish he was drafting 1

Really think Carolina will take a QB with thier first pick two straight years? I just dont see it. Has that ever happened?

Woah, terrified.

First Bilderburg is taking over everything going to ruin our amazing country, and Justin Bieber cut his hair and now Chan Gailey says something that makes complete sense???

Of course, the first pick is always the easiest, it is pick of the litter.

Yes Bilderberg is in controll.... Sad people even on a football site understand it...

how is this a smokescreen?

so a team wants to move up, they think of possible trade partners and gm's say, "oh the bills would love to pick 2 picks higher, maybe they want to move 4 picks down?"

I don't think there's been too many smoke screens with this new regime. For better or worse, it seems to be Gailey and Nix' style to just throw it out there.
