Pete Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 This was a Newsweek article. They surveyed 1000 Americans and 38% failed. Can you pass the citizens test? and I am dumb- I misspelled naturalization
Cugalabanza Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 100% I was surprised how easy that was. I hope those 38% are in some sort of assisted living environment. I hate to think that many of them are out there driving cars, having unprotected sex, waiving guns around WalMart, demanding to see our President's birth certificate, etc...
KD in CA Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 That's a pretty low threshold for passing. I missed a couple but agree that most of them were really easy.

Realist Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 100% It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.
HopsGuy Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 The first question is wrong. Q: How many states are there in the Union?A: 50 There are, in fact, 46 states in the Union. There are 4 Commonwealths.
Cugalabanza Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 The first question is wrong. There are, in fact, 46 states in the Union. There are 4 Commonwealths. Yes, there are four commonwealths. However, it’s still appropriate and accurate to refer to them as states.

I passed (missed 2) but was eating a lean pocket as I read your post.
HopsGuy Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Yes, there are four commonwealths. However, it’s still appropriate and accurate to refer to them as states. You're lousy at improv.
Pete Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 You're lousy at improv. 4 commonwealths in name only. They are states in nature though, and vastly different then other commonwealths such as Puerto Rico and Guam Interesting point though Hopsguy. Kind of like how we are not a democracy. We are a representative republic
