Complete 1st Round Mock

Recommended Posts

1. Carolina Panthers - Cam Newton / QB / Auburn - This franchise needs new life and they are making no secret of their interest in Newton. New regimes equal new QB's. He is the most athletically gifted QB I've seen coming out of college since Michael Vick and the Panthers hope he is just as good on the field.

2. Denver Broncos - Marcell Dareus / DE-DT / Alabama - Denver's defense was sorry to say the least last year. This year they get Dumervill back, a defense mind in John Fox to coach, and now they get arguably the best defensive prospect in the draft. Dareus will be a good fit in any scheme and will be a cornerstone on the DL for Denver.

3. Buffalo Bills - Von Miller / OLB / Texas A&M - Is this what I want to happen? No, but I increasingly am believing it will. Yes we have Merriman, Moats showed promise, but I think that Miller won the staff over at the Senior Bowl and has been atop the list for a while. He could be the next great sack artist or the next Aaron Maybin. Lord knows I hope it's not the latter.

4. Cincinnati Bengals - Prince Amukamara / CB / Nebraska - This is the first curve ball and people will scream as to why he's off the board before Peterson, but the Bengals have already shown some serious interest in this guy. I think he has better instincts at the position than Peterson and will be the Bengals' pick.

5. Arizona Cardinals - Patrick Peterson / CB / LSU - Peterson is off the board quickly as the Cardinals get a guy to start opposite DRC. Peterson is an elite talent, but plays with his back to the ball to much. He still may develop into a #1 shut-down type of CB and that's just what the Cardinals are hoping for.

6. Cleveland Browns - Nick Fairley / DT / Auburn - Cleveland Browns' 4-3 defense, meet Nick Fairley.

7. San Francisco 49ers - Robert Quinn / OLB / North Carolina - Quinn may be the best pass rusher in the draft and San Fran needs a guy like that. He will fit in well on that defense that has Patrick Willis manning the ILB spot and make an immediate impact.

8. Tennessee Titans - Blaine Gabbert / QB / Mizzou - Bud Adams hopes he gets it right this time with his 1st Round QB. Kerry Collins is pushing 40 and there is no one else in waiting worth talking about. Gabbert had an excellent Pro Day, is the top QB ina many scouts eyes, and may very well end up being a week 1 starter.

9. Dallas Cowboys - Da'Quan Bowers / DE / Clemson - The slide stops here. Bowers will be a DE in the 3-4. Can you see him lining up with Demarcus Ware just to his right? Could be an absolute nightmare for QB's in the NFC East.

10. Washington Redskins - Julio Jones / WR / Alabama - It's not a secret that the Skins need some serious help at WR and Jones will be that guy. His combine performance was amazing in itself, but to think that he had a fractures foot and still performed the way he did was unreal. I think he will be in the OROY talk by season's end in 2011.

11. Houston Texans - Cameron Jordan / DE / Cal - Jordan is the prototypical 5-technique DE and Wade will know just how to incorporate him into his new 3-4 defense in Houston.

12. Minnesota Vikings - Tyron Smith / OT / USC - Smith will be the new LT and McKinnie will slide to the RT spot. The Vikes are building for the future with this move. The QB position means nothing if you cannot keep him off of his back.

13. Detroit Lions - Aldon Smith / DE / Mizzou - Smith lining up beside Suh? That will be something to watch for years to come for Lions fans. Schwartz keeps on the right track of getting the defense where he wants it to be.

14. St. Louis Rams - Corey Liuget / DT / Illinois - The Rams need a pass rusher and a DT. In turn they get the best DT available who can get after the passer from the DT spot as well.

15. Miami Dolphins - JJ Watt / DE / Wisconsin - Sparano continues to build the defense and Watt has a chance to be a great player at DE in the 3-4. He and Cam Wake on the same side will be tough to keep out of the backfield for any opposing team.

16. Jacksonville Jaguars - Ryan Kerrigan / DE / Purdue - Pass rush help is needed greatly by Jax and Kerrigan fills that void. The guy gives 110% on every down and has the ability to be the guy they've been looking for in that defense.

17. New England Patriots - Mark Ingram / RB / Alabama - This is one pick that Tom Brady will run to the podium to announce himself. They have not had a back of this class since they initially got Corey Dillon. All of the AFC East will be sickened by this pick for years to come.

18. San Diego Chargers - Cam Heyward / DE / Ohio St. - He will be a day one starter on this already great defense.

19. New York Giants - Anthony Costanzo / OT / Boston College - Eli was under pressure last season, A LOT. The OL gets an upgrade at one of the bookends here.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Justin Houston / DE / Georgia - The defense will be the focus early for Tampa as they look for guys to get after Brees, Ryan, and Carolina's top pick Cam Newton.

21. Kansas City Chiefs - Phil Taylor / DT / Baylor - Taylor is a beast who will fit perfectly as KC's NT for the next 5 or 6 years at least.

22. Indianapolis Colts - Gabe Carimi / OT / Wisconsin - Manning is going to need to get the team to go after OL help because they flat out stunk last year. Carimi will be the beginning and don't be surprised if their 2nd or 3rd is on the OL as well.

23. Philadelphia Eagles - Nate Solder / OT / Colorado - Solder will instantly displace Winston Justice at RT, which is Vick's blindside. Philly will make whatever moves they can to bolster their OL.

24. New Orleans Saints - Martez Wilson / LB / Illinois - Wilson will be a beast alongside Vilma in that defense.

25. Seattle Seahawks - Adrian Clayborn / DE / Iowa - Pete Carroll has got something going in Seattle and hopes that Clayborn can step in and help that iffy defense. It's a weak division and if their defense gets better they could find themselves atop the NFC West once again.

26. Baltimore Ravens - Derek Sherrod / OT / Miss. State - I think this pick allows them to slide Oher back to the RT position where he played well his rookie year. They are still looking for Ogden's replacement and Sherrod may be that guy.

27. Atlanta Falcons - Brooks Reed / DE / Arizona - Abraham isn't getting any younger and who else do they really have to put pressure on opposing Qb's? No one. Reed could be the answer long term.

28. New England Patriots - Muhammad Wilkerson / DE-DT / Temple - He will be a DE in the 3-4 for the Pats*, one that could stir memories of Richard Seymour for Pats* fans.

29. Chicago Bears - Jimmy Smith / CB / Colorado - The Bears need a better secondary and Smith is the best CB on the board. Briggs and Urlacher will help to keep him in line in Chicago.

30. New York Jets - Akeem Ayers / OLB / UCLA - What does New York need? Another pass rusher. Here you go.

31. Pittsburgh Steelers - Mike Pouncey / OG / Florida - The brothers are reunited and the Steelers are jubilant.

32. Green Bay Packers - Raheem Moore / FS / UCLA - What do they really need? Where are the chinks in the armor? Might as well ad the best FS in the draft.

OK not bad but if Bower has a good outing April first (knee checks out, under 4.75 in the 40) he's taken by Denver, Cincinnati will take Gabbert or Newton if given the chance, if both are gone they take A. J.Green 1st and a QB in the 2nd (Palmer says he has 80mil in the Bank and he would rather retire than play another season for Brown) CIN priorities are QB, Green, Peterson, trade down which is where Prince ALbertinacan comes in.

Funny thing about his mock draft......he completely left AJ Green out of it!

Gabbert goes before Newton.

Picks 2 and 3 are possible.

Bengals will take a QB after losing Palmer, Newton could go there.

Peterson before Prince.

Green over Jones.

Dolphins will draft Ingram; with their offense they need a strong and versatile RB, and with Williams getting older and injuries taking their toll on Brown, they desperately need an RB.

I'm not crazy about Miller to The Bills...But lets be perfectly clear about something...As a Prospect there is absolutely NO...and I mean NO comparison between Miller and Maybin other than their Position...

Miller is the anti-Maybin... B-)
