While I agree with many of you on how embarrasingly bad this video/song is... I have to say that any type of swagger that these Bills can get would be a welcome surprise. I'll take 1 Stevie Johnsons over 10 TO's. Stevie has heart, a good sense of humor, and dude can play!

As long as he stays clean, plays with heart, and doesn't disgrace himself or this city... I am all for him having some fun in the off-season like this!

Ya Boy, is actually not embarrassingly bad, just filled with clichés imo.

That Cik.Money was more than embarrassingly bad. That was a joke. However eating money sandwiches is hilarious.

Music was bad, lyrics were bad, rapping was bad. Hence, embarrassingly bad.

Thanks for the clarification of your opinion. Now if your done, I'm going to go "HUG LIFE!!!"

Cmon guys, how can you be so bitter as a fan that youd want to hate on this?!? When is the last time a player embraced the team this way, or to this extent?? And better yet, there wasnt one vulgar or obscene message in the entire video. It's just about gettin money, and kicking butt on the football field.

FINALLY a player who wants to BRING swagger to the team, instead of leaving to find it in some big city. And he's doing it from a positive perspective.

If you cant get past the genre, then that's YOUR problem. Is it going Platinum anytime soon? No. But, isnt it awesome to see that, in the free time of the offseason, our guy isnt going and getting in trouble, he's making rap videos about the BILLS!!

Agreed...he's having fun with it....no need to hate. A lot of younger Bills fans will enjoy this because it's both rap, and hilarious. Stevie's still pretty young and I'd rather him him do this with his friends than have ACTUAL character issues. Maybin's song was embarrassing because he was rapping (terribly), and he is very bad at tackle football. Stevie has personality and the play to back it up.

Great points, AND Maybin's rap was all about how great he is. A LOT of talk with very little walk to back it up. Steve's song isnt so self promoting. Its just in good fun.

LOL at eating the money sandwich. Hilarious.

It's the way I hear it. It's rhythm and rhyming - and it's been the same rhythm for 30 years......There's things called melody and harmony they might want to look into.

While the subject matter is pretty much repetitive, there's no way that the rhythm has stayed the same. If you don't notice that, then you're probably just tone deaf. Or you're just super old.

That's the way you hear it, but you obviously don't listen to a lot of it. That's ok, but the best producers are doing all sorts of amazing and creative programming to create swing and polyrhythms. As has been the case with all black music, that rhythmic complexity is an undervalued asset in white musical culture. That's why it takes an Elvis to show most white people what the greats were already doing.

Now I'm not going to call Stevie's work here great, but to dismiss rap music due to taste is one (completely valid) thing. To dismiss its musicality without really critically listening is another, less valid enterprise.

My big problem with rap, btw, is the incessant demeaning of women and thematically crass and commercialist lyrics (in mainstream hip hop), and the public's taste for that brand of hip hop. Come up with something new there... There are plenty of underground artists doing just that.

Anyway, go stevie and go Bills!

Thank you for pointing this out. It seems a lot of the music critics here failed to release this.

I agree with you there for the most part. There is the overemphasis on having $ and bragging about it that rubs me the wrong way as well.

+1. You don't see too many guys embracing Buffalo like this, so what's the big deal? The only real questionable activity is that they were playing dice.

For those who say that rap has been the same for the past 30 years, they are ignorant of the genre. What Run DMC and the Beasties were doing in the 80's is much different than Snoop, Biggie, and Tupac did in the early 90's, which is considerably different than Outkast and Mos Def. It took Eminem to bring a lot of the rappers to a point of higher visability, and have 50 Cent ride on his coattails. The autotune heavy mid-late 00's was the most materialistic bastardization of music in my opinion, and allowed T-pain to get hit songs. One can easily say that rock and pop changed since the days of the beatles and michael jackson respectively as well.

I feel dumber for watching that. And I got to the minute mark.

HUG LIFE!!!

When I met Steve Johnson in training camp his rookie year with his colored dreds, I thought he was a really down to earth guy. Now, the more I see of him and the jerk wad thugs that he assocates himself with, he is destined eventually for some sort of suspension after several fines. It is a shame, he has a load of talent and potential, but he isn't yet as good as he thinks he is. He needs to dip his hands in some glue so he doesn't drop as many passes (he led the AFC tied with Brandon Marshall and one or two others), but his head is getting so big, they might not be able to find a helmet big enough for him. He had one exceptionally great game against the Bengals and his head got so big doing talk shows, interviews, etc., that he forgot how to catch the ball the following week against the Steelers which costs his teammates and the fans a victory. As far as that video, you would have to be at least a few weeks past your own funeral to be able to sit through the whole thing.
