Talent and Ability VS Hard-Ethic and A Motor

Recommended Posts

no answers .... I look at our last two really good DL Phil Hansen and Schobel .... they were more work-ethic and motor than talent and ability....

Why do you say that? Both Hansen and Schobel were INCREDIBLY skilled and talented players.

Skill I consider with Work-Ethic , and they were talented, but i wouldnt say either had explosive abilities....

and i wasnt saying Von Miller had a poor Work-ethic, just saying the articles I read about him got me thinking

Even more dangerous: "Potential"

As Jon Gruden says, no other word from player evaluations has gotten more coaches fired.

this the reason you do not draft Cam Newton at #3 . All potential, nothing proven. winning a national champ. with a stellar dfense adds up to very little for me. Give me another 3 win season and a shot at Andrew Luck. Or take Kaepernick in round 3 or 4 and see what he can do.

Nothing proven, ok

What has Luck proven? What has Karpernick proven?
