How broad is the definition of "memory-erasing technology"? Because I can think of at least one technology - ECT - that'll !@#$ with your memory.

it really is amazing when results like this come back -- it makes me wonder if 1 in 5 americans like to screw around on these

Reminds me of a line I heard or read once, something like "Think of how stupid a person with average intelligence is. Now, by definition, half of the population is dumber than that."

 

So, instead of 1 in 5 Americans enjoying screwing around on polls, perhaps 5 out of 10 Americans are just plain stupid. Or maybe even 6 in 10.

Clearly there are dumb people out there but I would guess atleast a large percentage of those are starwars fans just messing around (globalize as needed to other questions) and people being stupid to be funny (being a pain is cool!)

 

Let's be honest - how many people in this very thread would say yes to memory erasing as a liquor joke and not a "I believe in that little pen will smith carried in men in black" sense.

 

I dont doubt several percentage points are real though and that's still a huuuuge number of people.
