Nearly a quarter (24 percent) of people are wrong in their belief that humans can be teleported. Nearly 50 percent of adults wrongly believe that memory-erasing technology exists. Now, by definition, half of the population is dumber than that." So, instead of 1 in 5 Americans enjoying screwing around on polls, perhaps 5 out of 10 Americans are just plain stupid. Or maybe even 6 in 10.

Or maybe even 6 in 10. Clearly there are dumb people out there but I would guess atleast a large percentage of those are starwars fans just messing around (globalize as needed to other questions) and people being stupid to be funny (being a pain is cool!) Let's be honest - how many people in this very thread would say yes to memory erasing as a liquor joke and not a "I believe in that little pen will smith carried in men in black" sense.
