OnTheRocks
This from Chuck Missler back in 2001. There are many in the secular world that think Missler is a nut case. But the fact is he is probably one of the most intelligent people on the planet. Guest RabidBillsFanVT
I find the major premise of the conflict given, that the United States would do whatever it took to defend Taiwan, is irrational and out-dated. In the age of nuclear weapons, the United States would NEVER, I repeat NEVER, attack a country (or defend it from attackers) if the agressor nation has nuclear weapons. Our strategy on this point involves inrenational pressure and diplomacy to REMOVE such attacks from ever happening in the first place. THIS is why we have NOT attacked North Korea, for the same reason. If we do, BOOM, there goes SE Asia, up in a mushroom cloud. Other nations KNOW THIS, and they are not stupid. It is the terrorists, known to be stupid, that have no qualms about blowing up a city with a nuclear device!! They have no grand arsenal, no one nation, no government... NOTHING by which to be pressured with other than death or capture. He makes valid points, but the whole overall lynchpin, the Chinese/US reaction, is faulty.
